Who are we?

Ki is the biggest global insurance tech company you’ve never heard of, unless you’ve been looking to insure a satellite, wind farm or music festival recently.

Having written over $877m in gross written premium in 2023, we’ve achieved significant growth since our beginnings in 2021. Our investors were excited about the fact we were revolutionising the way a 333 year-old industry was working. There are hardly any industries left that are mainly paper based, but the specialty insurance market is one. Together with partners at Google and UCL we developed Ki and created a platform that helps insurance brokers place risk in a fast and frictionless way. We’re continuing to lead the charge on the digitisation of this market and we need more excellent minds to work with us to realise this goal and create more opportunities.

What you will be working on

We're looking for an Algorithm Analyst to join our Algorithmic Underwriting team. You will work at the intersection of underwriting and algorithm development, ensuring that the design and development of our digital underwriting capabilities meets commercial and regulatory requirements, whilst enabling stakeholders to interact with the algorithm.

Bringing your experience in statistical or data analysis, you will help us to develop best practice and scalable digital risk- and portfolio-underwriting and analytics capabilities, bringing relevant commercial and software expertise. Some of things you might get involved in include:

• Portfolio line size generation
• Developing and maintaining services that allow stakeholders to interact with the algorithm
• Working with various functions to design and develop algorithm explainability capabilities and ensure a consolidated approach to algorithm line size deployment

You’ll be working within a multi-disciplinary and commercially-focussed team, bringing together deep expertise in specialty insurance with scalable actuarial analysis and product development. Our squads focus on delivering high-impact features and we favour a highly iterative, analytical approach. We invest time in research and development, internally and with academic institutions.

We focus on the commercial outcomes that our algorithm achieves and we like well tested and maintainable code. Our algorithm is built in Python so previous experience is required and our infrastructure is entirely cloud native and we maintain our infrastructure as code.
