Intern (d/f/m) within Acoustics - Interior Noise

Join our team as an Intern in Acoustics - Interior Noise. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the analysis and reduction of interior noise in aircraft, playing a vital role in enhancing passenger comfort and flight experience.

Your location

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Experience the special flair of Hamburg in your spare time where vibrant cosmopolitan culture meets nautic legacy.

Finkenwerder

Are you wondering how you actually get from university to Airbus? Your working student position is at the Finkenwerder plant and you can take the ferry from Teufelsbrück to the Airbus ferry terminal and back to the university in the morning and at noon. Alternatively, you can take the ferry to Finkenwerder and then ride your bike for about another 15 minutes to the main entrance.

  • Your tasks and responsibilities

    • Support acoustic engineers in the measurement and analysis of interior noise data from various aircraft types and test rigs.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of new methodologies for noise source identification and characterization.
    • Contribute to the simulation and modeling of aircraft interior noise propagation using specialized acoustic software.
    • Participate in the evaluation of noise reduction solutions and their impact on overall acoustic performance.
    • Prepare presentations summarizing research findings and project progress.
    • Conduct literature reviews and stay updated on the latest advancements in aircraft acoustics.
    • Support acoustic engineers in the measurement and analysis of interior noise data from various aircraft types and test rigs.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of new methodologies for noise source identification and characterization.
    • Contribute to the simulation and modeling of aircraft interior noise propagation using specialized acoustic software.

    Desired skills and qualifications

    • Currently enrolled as a full-time student (d/f/m) in a Master's degree program in Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
    • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required; German language skills are a plus.
    • Strong academic record with a demonstrable interest in acoustics or fluid dynamics. Proven experience with NHV Familiarity with acoustic measurement techniques and equipment is a plus.
    • Basic understanding of acoustic simulation software (e.g., Actran, Nastran, VA One) desirable. Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python) is advantageous.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
