Job Description

Impression Digital

Impression is a multi-award winning, high growth digital marketing agency based in Nottingham, London and Manchester.

Everything we do is underpinned by awesome people, collaborating in an industry-leading creative and inclusive environment.

Our agency wouldn’t be what it is today without our incredible people. Our diverse team encompasses expertise across the digital landscape which enables us to accelerate change and results, driving business growth faster. Our collaborative, creative and inclusive culture helps build our reputation as a leading digital employer and we are committed to nurturing and developing people to their full potential.

We’re looking for a Data Specialist (“Junior Marketing Data Engineer”) to help further our growth, through working primarily with customer and performance marketing data in data pipelines (Meltano) and data warehouses (BigQuery).

Experience in SQL and Python is required. JavaScript experience is beneficial.

Job Summary

The Data Engineer role is a specialised role designed for those who can lead on client and internal projects with limited support. The individual is expected to contribute specialist knowledge and capability to client work, Impression’s marketing contributions, and our internal training programme, to ensure that this knowledge is shared with colleagues. A Data Engineer is considered a future capability expert and through their work contributions will be seen as such internally and externally over time.

This role is on the Individual Contributor pathway and does not not necessarily require line management. Additional responsibilities will include contributions to department initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage data pipelines using cloud orchestration, EL&T/ETL platforms and data warehouses

• Collaborate with internal and client teams to uncover opportunities to make data work harder for our clients’ marketing/advertising operations

• Play a proactive part in client project delivery and project management, meeting deadlines

• Contribute to Impression’s marketing efforts through written content, webinars and/or speaking at events

• Deliver timely and effective client and team communications, in accordance with client promise

• Plans tasks using project management software and uses this to delegate through the team according to resources available

• Works collaboratively or autonomously alongside client success and their expectations to meet client satisfaction targets

• Following internal people processes and ensuring full compliance with and knowledge of internal policies

• Support the broader Solutions team in areas of work such as Business Intelligence dash boarding, digital analytics and data science.

• It’s impossible to capture every contribution here, so from time to time additional contributions may be required, but in any case these will be relatively small.

Technical Skills Required

• Competence in ETL/ELT and data warehousing principles

• Competence in writing complex SQL

• Competence in Python programming

• Basic understanding of JavaScript

• Basic understanding of Git version control

This is a junior role and we are looking for a candidate with some commercial experience (1 year+) - but full training and space to learn and develop will be provided for the successful candidate.

SALARY: £28,600

Please note, this role is a hybrid role, in line with our flexible working policy. We look to hire candidates who are no more than a 90 minute journey away from our office locations to ensure your personal time is protected and that you're able to travel into the office when necessary.
