The role

There’s always something new happening at Huel, and our Finance team plays a key role in helping us make the best commercial decisions.

We're now looking for a new Commercial Finance Manager to join us to play a critical role in understanding and communicating the drivers of gross margin performance at Huel and working with the business to drive gross margin improvement. From shaping pricing strategies to supporting CoGS forecasts, you'll collaborate with teams across Huel to make a real impact. Here’s an overview of what your day-to-day might look like:

  • Own gross margin models and be the go-to expert in what drives product-level gross margin at Huel
  • Maintain models for existing products and produce new models to support business decision-making around new products, markets or initiatives.
  • Develop strong understanding of margin drivers by product, region and channel and provide analysis, insight and recommendations to the business based on this.
  • Business partner with the Materials, Product Supply and Product Development teams and provide analysis, insight and recommendations to support decision-making across these areas.
  • Work with the business to identify and drive opportunities for short, medium and long-term gross margin improvement.
  • Ownership of all CoGS budgets/forecasts, produced in partnership with business stakeholders.
  • Ownership of month-end CoGS analysis, variance reporting and identification of risks and opps vs forecast.
  • Identify and flag wider gross margin risk areas and work with the business to mitigate.
  • Produce financial information for business cases around new manufacturers or any other ad-hoc projects

What we're looking for in you

This role is ideal for a CIMA, ACCA, or ACA-qualified professional with at least 3–4 years of post-qualification experience. You should have a strong background in commercial finance and business partnering within the FMCG sector, specifically working with physical products. A solid understanding of key financial concepts, including margin and variance analysis, is essential. You'll also need to :

  • Be a great communicator and have rocket ship influencing skills
  • Be hands-on and driven, eager to learn and throw yourself into new challenges, with a genuine interest in understanding the business and driving improvements
  • Have strong excel skills and ability to build/manipulate complex Excel models
