Hi I'm Anil the Senior Project Manager at HowNow đŸ‘‹đŸŸ I’m looking for a Scrum Master to join us.

You’ll guide us in adopting Agile principles in all areas of our development life cycle and remove obstacles to ensure the delivery of high-quality products. If you're someone who loves building processes from scratch, tweaking how we're already working, and generally making things way more efficient, you'll really enjoy it here.

At times, it can be really fast paced which can come with high-demands (we’re growing a market leading learning company, which doesn’t come easy), so you’ll need to be used to working under pressure.

Longer term, as someone that coordinates the Engineering teams, you’ll also have the opportunity to influence the design of awesome product features, giving your feedback and opinions during the design phase.

Day-to-day tasks will include đŸ“©

  • You’ll facilitate daily Scrum meetings (stand-ups), sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • You’ll collaborate with the Product Owner to ensure that the product backlog is well-defined, prioritised, and up to date.
  • You’ll remove impediments or guide the team to removing impediments by finding the right team members.
  • You’ll shield the development team from outside distractions and interferences.
  • You’ll foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture by coaching team members on Agile principles and Scrum practices.
  • You’ll track and manage key performance metrics such as velocity, burn-down charts, and team progress to ensure sprint goals are met.
  • You’ll support continuous improvement by facilitating retrospectives and encouraging experimentation and learning.
  • You’ll help the team adhere to Scrum principles while identifying areas for improvement in their processes.
  • You’ll liaise with stakeholders and ensure clear communication and alignment on sprint goals and progress.
  • You’ll encourage team accountability and self-organisation while maintaining a healthy balance of team dynamics.
  • You’ll ensure adherence to the Agile process and foster a culture of continuous delivery and feedback.

The key things that we will be looking for in applicants 🔑

  • You have 4+ years of experience in a Scrum Master role within a tech company, preferably B2B SaaS.
  • You have experience working with Agile software development methodologies, particularly Scrum or Kanban.
  • You have a Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM).
  • You possess strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
  • You are able to coach teams to reach their highest potential and deliver exceptional results.
  • You have experience using Agile project management tools such as Jira.
  • You have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively under pressure.
  • You have a strong understanding of software development practices and technologies, including coding concepts.
