Job Description
What is Flash Pack?
When was the last time you made a new friend? Friendship profoundly improves our emotional wellbeing, sense of belonging, purpose and happiness. Everyone wants more human connection but making new friends is really hard. That’s why we exist, with a mission to create one million meaningful friendships across the globe, using the power of travel and technology as a platform for connection.
We are Flash Pack – curated group adventures for solo travelers.
International demand for solo travel is starting to boom once again – and Flash Pack is here to lead the charge of a growing global movement. To fulfil this mission, we’re expanding our team with some of the best talent around.
A remote-first, well-capitalized start-up, we are backed by founders, investors and entrepreneurs who have built multi-billion dollar companies. We are looking for innovative thinkers and doers to join our team on a mission to tackle the loneliness epidemic and help everyone connect with new friends.
The Role:
Flash Pack is on a mission to create one of the best global, remote companies - where members feel deeply connected to each other and their work. Creating a level playing field for everyone to thrive is at the top of our agenda. The travel industry lacks woefully behind other industries in terms of diversity and equality. The foundations we have put in place including our trailblazing transparent pay policy has put us ahead of companies 4x bigger than us.
Reporting into our CEO, Radha Vyas, we’re looking for a commercially minded People leader who can build on this solid foundation and steer Flash Pack as it continues to grow into new markets like the US.
Results you’ll drive:
Export and translate Flash Pack’s strong value-based culture to the US
Design the best org structure and people strategy across a remotely distributed team as we scale into the US, fuelling our Sales & Growth engine
Unlock and redefine what high performance looks like at Flash Pack
Solve the ever-elusive remote working challenge; defining our rituals and a-sync best practices.
This is a Remote Flexible role meaning that while it is contracted to the London office there is flexibility to work from home the majority of the time.
This role will be a great fit if:
Your experience, skills and passion will set you apart so tell us about your achievements, irrespective of whether they are personal or work-related, tell us about your journey, and about what you learnt.
So, if this role excites you, don't let our role description hold you back, get applying!
We’re after the right person. If you don’t quite hit all the criteria, you should still apply based on hitting the majority.
Experienced
You have already guided a company through a significant growth transition (e.g. Series A → B → C+), ideally expanding into the US and UK markets.
You’re already a proven #1 People leader reporting into C-level.
You have knowledge of Agile practices and know how they can be leveraged in the People space.
Team builder
Using data to inform your decisions and measuring your success comes naturally to you e.g. how do you measure the impact of your team?
You're a natural influencer and instil trust with everyone you interact with. You can take people through journeys of change with relative ease.
Exemplary Leader
You can think big picture and long term but can still roll your sleeves up and do whatever it takes to make your team successful.
You’re known for your resourcefulness and getting creative with what levers you have available to you.
You embrace People Experience and let go of traditional HR. 🚀
You want to shout to the world about the great work we’re doing and blaze a trail for other People leaders to follow.
Sound good? Then join our mission to create one million friendships through group adventure – and a friendly and energetic global team on the cusp of worldwide expansion.
What else?
