Position Overview

We collect millions of data points from different sources. At the same time, we have state-of-the-art machine learning solutions, developed by our data scientists. You add the software engineering perspective. You maintain and develop applications that can be used to access this data and connected services, as well as the data provisioning layer. With your experience, you establish and maintain best practices regarding software architecture and development and ensure searchability and performance. You’re supported in your work by many individuals outside the engineering department, e.g. product managers, infrastructure experts, first and second level support and quality assurance.

Being part of the engineering team at Dealfront involves working with a broad set of components and technologies. These include (but are not limited to): web application development (with a focus on backend), serverless technologies, processing of large amounts of data, different database engines (relational and non-relational), and working with external/internal APIs

Responsibilities

• With your software engineering knowledge, you play a central role in designing, implementing, operating and innovating customer-facing applications.
  You’re expected to be able to work self-managed and independently and come up with solutions for features, incidents, issues, and internal requirements.
• You share your knowledge, promote good development principles and mentor colleagues
• While many systems are developed by the whole team, you may also specialize in existing or emerging technologies and sub-systems and take on ownership

Requirements

• Experience in server-side programming. We employ PHP, Java, Ruby and Rust, among others. It is recommended to have some experience in PHP or Java, but this is not a must. It’s important to be open to learn and use new programming languages and ecosystems depending on company needs.
• Experience with frontend development (in particular vue.js, TypeScript) is a plus
• Strong database skills including PostgreSQL and document-based DBs like Solr/Elasticsearch
• Experience developing with performance in mind
• Experience in CI/CD, DevOps and Infrastructure, including Docker and Kubernetes. Cloud ecosystem knowledge (in particular AWS) and AWS Serverless is a plus.
• Strong software architecture & data modeling skills to base engineering decisions on product vision
• Ability to help and improve the work of your colleagues through your teamwork and communication skills
• Experience managing, monitoring and troubleshooting production grade applications.
