Job Description

ClientEarth is an environmental non-profit with a unique approach: we use the law to hold corporations directly accountable in court and create a future where people and planet thrive together. We are scaling up our work to meet the challenge of the next decade by combatting climate change and the destruction of nature. Our staff of more than 300 lawyers, policy experts, and other professionals is advocating for the environment in seven countries around the globe. Our fast-growing U.S. office opened a year ago in Santa Monica, California, has a dedicated staff currently totaling 15 colleagues. Mission-critical to our success in the U.S. will be a Digital Fundraiser with the knowledge, creativity and drive to grow audiences online and help galvanize their activism and donations.

This role focuses on delivering exceptional digital fundraising and communications across web, social media, email marketing channels, engaging identified audiences by creating compelling digital content, with a particular focus on copywriting.

Meet your Manager

In this role, you will be line managed by the Digital Fundraising Campaign Manager (Amanda Bengtsson) as part of a two-person U.S. Digital Team, inside a global Communications Department that spans public affairs and policy; strategic, internal, and corporate communications; and digital fundraising & communications.

Prior to joining ClientEarth, Amanda worked in digital marketing with focus on growth for major animal protection NGO's, marketing agencies and eCommerce businesses.

Main Duties:

  • Collaborating with the Digital Fundraising Campaign Manager to develop and execute US-focused digital campaigns in all channels to reach and engage new audiences, build our supporter pipeline, and grow revenue.
  • Managing US digital communications channels – including email, web, and social media – to tell the story of ClientEarth while bolstering online advocacy and fundraising
  • Working closely with the wider Digital Team to deliver the organization’s digital content annual plans and wider digital strategy.

  • Expertise in email marketing, including strong copywriting skills
  • Experience managing an organization’s social media output and building its audience.
