Job Description

We have a great opportunity to join ClientEarth’s Brussels office in a coordination role. Our work in the EU has grown to such an extent that we need support maintaining an overall view of everything we are doing, to ensure we are working in line with our strategic framework.

You will support the Head of the Brussels in monitoring the adoption of EU environmental policies and in coordinating our work at EU level to ensure we work cross-programmatically, collaborate with our offices in other geographies, and make the most of our expertise and skills across the whole organisation.

Meet your Manager

In this role, you will be managed by Anais Berthier who is based in our Brussels office. Anais is a Senior Lawyer and Head of ClientEarth Brussels. Before moving to Brussels, she worked as a lawyer for the French Ministry of the Environment, where she focused on Kyoto Protocol and World Trade Organisation (WTO) issues. Before becoming Head of EU Affairs at ClientEarth she led our work on strengthening the rule of law. This included ensuring the implementation and enforcement of the procedural rights provided by the Aarhus Convention: access to information, public participation in decision-making process and access to justice in environmental matters.

Main Duties

  • Support with communications at EU level, including managing the Head of Brussels’ social media account; monitoring social media posts of certain relevant stakeholders including MEPs, Commission officials etc. (in collaboration with the Communications team and Head of Brussels) to raise the profile of ClientEarth in Brussels
  • Support the Head of the Brussels office in building a strong office culture and community e.g. through social events, meetings, away days, etc.
