About you
As a software engineer you will need to be a strong individual contributor that has demonstrable experience in working with one or more teams on critical work streams, these can be high impact feature deliverables, complex performance enhancements and refactoring to support 10x scale.
This is a strong technical role, and you should expect to spend a large proportion of your time actively contributing to the code base, providing valuable technical input and at times technical direction.
Technology - You remain a deeply technical person who has exceptional problem-solving skills, able to identify and implement the right sized, cost-effective solution. You should have a strong level of expertise in distributed system implementation, cloud native application development in a predominantly Microsoft technology stack (Azure/.Net).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing a self-service platform, developing a robust and scalable self-service platform.
- Defining and shaping Kubernetes resources such as pods, services, deployments, and ingress controllers to ensure our platform is resilient, scalable and secure.
- Establishing GitOps practices for managing infrastructure and application configurations.
- Mentoring more junior team members in modern development practices and how to apply it to the platform space.
- Taking part in the exploration and adoption of new technologies and practices
- Maintaining an eye for continuous improvement, taking part in retrospectives, planning and stand ups
- Included on the on-call support rota
Requirements
- Strong software development experience in C# (Framework, 6 and 8), SQL, Messaging
- Hands on experience working with GitOps methodologies and tooling
- Experience of testing methodologies such as Unit, Integration, End to End and Contract Testing
- Experience with microservices architecture, event-driven architecture and related patterns
- Excellent communication skills
- Hands on knowledge of the Clearbank platform technology stack: Terraform, Azure cloud services, Kubernetes, Helm, Azure DevOps Yaml pipeline and templates, Docker
- Proven experience in a Platform environment working with a product first mindset
Desirable if you have one of the following:
- Experience working in financial services
- Proactive approach to problem, incident and risk management
