About you
You’ll be joining the Financial Control team as an Temporary Assistant Financial Accountant on a 6 month contract. Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, you’ll be a part of a fast-growing business that is challenging the market and doing things differently.
You will play a team role in the Financial Control team maintaining accurate books and records for the ClearBank Group of companies, ensuring a robust control framework underpins all records. Through a collaborative approach, you will support the Financial Control team in supporting the wider Finance function to deliver ClearBank’s external reporting requirements.

What you'll do
Play a team role in delivering a streamlined month-end financial close process, ensuring timely and precise posting of key journals and underlying calculations
Perform variance analysis to explain month-on-month movements as well as actuals against forecast differences, providing detailed written commentary to support the month end close meetings
Uphold the integrity and accuracy of balance sheets through monthly and quarterly reconciliations, ensuring all discrepancies are thoroughly investigated and resolved
Collaborate in generating accurate monthly flash reports for the Financial Planning & Analysis and Commercial teams
Uphold robust internal controls and procedures to protect financial data and data integrity.
Participate in various ad hoc financial reporting projects as needed, such as process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting processes
What you'll bring:
Part-qualified accountant is desirable
Qualified by experience with a history of working within a financial control environment will also be considered
Prior experience and demonstratable knowledge of financial control month end processes is essential
Time management, analytical skills and attention to detail are essential.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential
Prior experience of Dynamics 365 is advantageous
A clear communicator with a self-starter mindset is essential under ClearBank’s flexible working philosophy
An effective team player with a collaborative mindset
Capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment

First Interview: You’ll spend one hour with a member of our hiring team focusing on your skills, competencies and your ways of working at the same time we’ll give you time to ask more questions about the role, the team and learn more about the ClearBank culture. This will be via Teams.
Second Interview: This will be a competency-based interview with one or more members of our team.
Final Stage: You will have a final meeting with the Head of Department. This will be around 45-60 minutes.
