Job Description

About Us
Circle is building the world’s leading all-in-one platform for online communities. We make it possible for creators, coaches, educators, and businesses to bring together their audience with engaging discussions, live streams, events, chat, courses, and payments — all in one place, all under their own brand.

We’re proud to be a fully remote company of around 170 (and growing!) team members from 30+ countries around the world. We seek exceptional individuals around the world, set them up to do the best work of their lives, and in turn, create a meaningful impact in their own lives. We don't track hours, but we do manage for high expectations very closely. We collaborate across time zones, are highly async, and like to document a lot.

Twice a year, we bring the whole company together in beautiful places around the world for our company offsites. So far, we’ve hosted offsites in Turkey, Portugal, Mexico, Thailand, Colombia, and Italy, with more to come!

About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Marketing leader ahead of Circle’s next phase of growth. Ultimately, you’ll be responsible for crafting and executing a marketing strategy that drives demand, builds our brand, and helps Circle as we introduce multiple new products.

This role reports directly to Circle’s co-founder/Chief Revenue Officer and will work cross-functionally with the GTM and product leadership teams.

What you'll be doing

  • Accelerate pipeline and demand for Circle’s self-serve & up-market products. You’ll be responsible for the strategy and execution of our demand generation plan. This includes overseeing all customer acquisition, including paid media, organic channels, partnerships and owned media. You will help us invest in new channels while growing predictably and efficiently.
  • Tell Circle’s brand story as we go multi-product. We’re introducing lots of new products: Circle Discover, Headless, APIs, Email, and more. You’ll help us shape the story and GTM execution as we stretch up-market, identify new ICPs, and develop new cross-sell/upsell motions.
  • Own lead routing and lead operations, as a close partner with Sales. We’re a product-led saas product with a sales motion for our high-opportunity leads. Lead routing is key for maximizing efficiency. You’ll be in the weeds, working with sales and creating a high-touch feedback loop between sales and marketing to increase demand as we go up-market.
  • Bring operational rigor to our channel performance, budgeting, and forecasting. You’re always planning for the future. You understand how to invest ahead of growth and you’re able to build highly accurate forecasts in partnership with the finance and revenue operations teams.
  • Oversee content, social and comms — both strategy and execution. There are lots of powerful stories we can tell, and the head of marketing will help us leverage these opportunities. This includes social media, brand partnerships, blog, influencer marketing, newsletter, PR, etc. You’ll help us go faster and invest more in these areas.
  • Hold a high bar for increasing the craft and polish in every aspect of our marketing. This spans ad creative, to email copy, to promotions videos, events, and more. You’re an excellent editor and the details matter. You understand that our reputation is our best marketing channel, and that each of these inputs drive it.

What you'll need to be successful

  • Strong alignment with our values. Find our values on our career page if you haven’t read up on them yet.
  • You are proficient in English (spoken, written, and reading) at a CEFR Level C1 / ILR Level 5.
  • You have at least 10 years of marketing leadership experience in a high-growth, software company environment.
  • You have a track record of hitting and exceeding pipeline targets, and you have experience stretching up-market into new markets over time.
  • You’re comfortable navigating a funnel that includes both a self-serve motion and a sales motion. You’re excited to solve challenging lead routing problems and improve efficiencies.
  • You have led marketing at a multi-product company.
  • You have a history of building high-trust relationships with peers on sales, customer success, product, finance, revenue operations, and other functions.
  • You’re able to thrive in a fast-growing, venture backed startup environment that requires quick decisions and action — while also knowing when to invest long-term and understand downstream effects of your decisions.
  • You are a leader and a coach, with a track record of helping members of your team grow in their roles. You have experience building a team, including hiring leaders and managers.
  • You have a strong work ethic. We’re a fast-growing venture-backed startup with ambitious plans, and our team has a lot to deliver on.
  • You are an excellent writer and communicator. We’re a fully-remote team, and excellent writing is a key requirement in the role, especially for a team lead.
  • You have strong presentation skills and executive presence.
