The Senior Business Development Manager will be responsible for achieving annual revenue targets of approximately £10m-£20m, while building a pipeline of opportunities worth around £100m for the following calendar year, specifically within the UKI Industrial and Commercial sector for CBS products and services. This role is primarily field-based, with the expectation of working one day per week from either the Salford or Windsor office. We’re supporting the journey to net zero, with energy services that help organisations to balance the demands of planet and profit.
Key accountabilities
Develop and execute sales strategies for high-value Industrial and Commercial (I&C) customers, utilizing the Miller Heiman or a comparable strategic selling methodology
Achieve annual revenues of approximately £10m-£20m, while building an unweighted opportunity pipeline of around £100m for the following year within the UKI Industrial and Commercial sector
Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events, while leading the execution of client-facing marketing initiatives, such as webinars and other promotional activities
Consistently maintain and update the Salesforce database with pipeline opportunities and contract wins, while delivering regular KPI reports and sales forecasts to the Senior Management Team
Work closely and collaboratively with other functions/Teams of the organization including Marketing, Technical Sales Support and Proposal Management, Commercial, Engineering and Operations teams
Lead and manage the bid and sales process in line with CBS project governance standards. This includes overseeing sales leadership, system development and integration, process ownership and enhancement, strategic customer management, and forecasting (including sector targeting). You will also be responsible for reporting, and staying informed on competitor and market intelligence to shape and refine the strategy and tactical positioning of CBS UKI services and products
Key requirements
The ideal candidate possess a proactive, results-driven mentality focused on identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities. You will have a strong desire to close deals and a proven track record in new business development and sales management within the UKI Industrial and Commercial sector, specifically for energy products and solutions such as CHP, solar, and heat pumps
Proven experience and track record of selling Decarbonisation/Net Zero solutions, including solar, CHP and Heat Pump, to I&C organisations
You will have a solid track record of developing a sales pipeline through networking, marketing activities, and navigating government policies and regulations
You will also demonstrate financial expertise regarding project and solution parameters, including gross/net margins, internal rates of return, and NPV
Familiarity with project financing options, such as PPA and EaaS, and the factors determining their suitability is crucial
Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce for sales management and reporting is necessary, along with solid IT skills to leverage systems that support customer relationship management
You will have the ability to think strategically to evaluate opportunities in a broader context while identifying risks and opportunities for both clients and the business
