Reporting Analyst

We’re looking for a brilliant Reporting Analyst to join our team of colleagues in British Gas Business, that together are setting the standard in energy supply.

The Reporting Analyst role has responsibility to deliver performance analytics & understand the effectiveness of our collection strategies, across multiple treatments, and both internal and external resources. This role is fundamental to gain a deeper level of insights and enable optimisation by deploying robust debt management commercial decisions.

Work as part of E2E Debt Strategy & Performance Team to reduce overall cost of Business Energy Debt to BGB.

Accountabilities

  • Analysing monthly debt strategy and treatment performance outcome data, ensuring we can link operational activity to financial reporting.
  • Proactively identifying opportunities/risks within the debt space, making recommendations, and seeking resolutions with the wider team.
  • Identify and Implement controls and processes to ensure all debt is being treated.
  • Support the business leads with the agile delivery of adhoc analysis to enable debt treatment and prevention.
  • Understand, report and influence key drivers of performance.
  • Provide analysis & insight to strategic changes & provide council and challenge to enable a rounded view of decision making.
  • Support the deployment and continuous improvement of Workflow processes and code impacting debt & treatment journeys - ensuring the implementation delivers on agreed strategy and best practices.
  • Build strong working relationships with the key internal and 3rd Party stakeholders to successfully deliver effective customer segmentation.

Essential Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of applied data analysis and developing effective improvements in a medium to large size matrix organisation.
  • Strong SQL and Excel skills essential, with coding and database experience
  • Strong understanding of key performance drivers.
  • Experience of identifying risks and opportunities
  • Experience proactively engaging stakeholders to deliver strategies.
  • Experience of linking operational performance and financial outcomes.
  • Excellent analytical skills.

Skills/Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in highly numerate discipline with strong numeracy and numerical reasoning capability.
  • Logical problem-solving skills.
