Regulatory Governance Lead

Leicester with FlexFirst hybrid working

Overview

British Gas Business (BGB) is the leading provider of energy to SMEs in the UK and is focused on helping its customers energising a greener, fairer future.

You will develop and manage a comprehensive risk strategy for the organization which maximizes commercial benefits while minimizing risk exposure and maintaining legislative compliance.

You will be required to visit some of our Leicester Spinneyside office at least once a week.

The Role

You will manage all aspects of Governance against our regulatory requirements, tracking, driving key stakeholders to deliver and monitor completed work, milestones achieved, remaining work and key dependencies. To do this you will maintain high quality reporting (including dashboard KPIs) and ensure compliance to governance frameworks and standards.

Co-ordinating responses across British Gas Business on energy regulation you will ensure our views are well re-represented and escalated where required.

You will support the running of Governance meetings (including accurate minute taking and presentation of data)

You will also get the opportunity to provide recommendations for improvement and ensure timely implementation of corrective action against our frameworks.

The Person

We would ideally like you to have knowledge and experience of the energy industry in the governance and regulatory space. You will have experience of working across a wide group of stakeholders and have a track record of advising and challenging stakeholders to achieve conduct and compliance objectives.

You will be passionate about business process and possess good analytical and problem-solving skills to identify priority areas for improvement and drive process optimisation. Embracing ambiguity and building effective relationships will also be key.
