The Net Zero business has recently surpassed 2m active customers, mainly from its core Hive brand. We are committed to continue to build and refine our capabilities across complementary green software and solutions (EV, ASHPs, Solar and Battery, DSR) and, with the backing of the Centrica Board, will continue to invest in the wider ‘green home’ and become the leading force in Home Energy Management (HEM).

Initially reporting to the CFO, the role of a Net Zero Finance Data Manager supports stakeholders across Finance, leading on the development of data models, visualisations, and automated processes to drive the provision of financial insight using all the tools Microsoft has to offer. This in turn underpins the quality of decisions and analysis from the wider Finance team / business, ensuring that a chosen actions and choices deliver the highest financial benefit at an acceptable level of risk. Additionally, they drive continuous improvements in insight through use of improved data management and consolidation, automation and report building.

Accountabilities

  • Develop strong relationships within the team to adopt self-serve automated reporting solutions.

  • Engaging with key stakeholders and translate business needs to a technical design of an automated process to fulfil emerging business requirements.

  • Deliver automated reporting tools to help Net Zero understand their performance against Group Annual Plan & latest forecasts.

  • Design and maintain complex forecasting models to consolidate plans from multiple business units capturing all KPI’s required to manage performance.

  • Manage interactions with DTS, MI and FC when rolling out new proposition to market, ensuring appropriate data sources are set up to report on their financial performance.

  • Support the wider finance team by providing robust, insight and analysis to drive improvements in financial performance.

  • Co-ordinate the production of standard finance deliverables, to help present an overarching view of the financial outcome relating to the Net Zero Business Strategy.

Person Specification

  • Finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) desired but not a necessity, but must be finance literate across main financial statements.

  • Team player with experience in building a strong network of relationships across the business and finance teams.

  • Experience of BPM/FP&A, reporting, planning and forecasting best practices including driving budget processes forward, analytical review and challenging outcomes.

  • Ability to achieve outcomes within agreed timeframes and under time pressures.

  • Exceptional multi-tasking and problem solving skills.

  • Financial management and KPI reporting experience.

  • Good technical skills required using Power Query and Power BI. Knowledge of SAP, SQL, Hadoop, Databricks and Redshift ideal but not essential, but willingness to learn is key.

  • Any experience with the use of AI and Copilot is helpful but not required
