We have a brilliant new opportunity for an Electrical Qualifying Supervisor to join our PH Jones team for a fixed term period of 12 months. There is the opportunity that this role may become permanent.

In this role you will be responsible for the safety and adherence to technical standards and quality of electrical work undertaken by PH Jones on a day-to-day basis. You will engage and develop a regional team of direct labour and subcontractor electricians to deliver the highest standards of customer safety, satisfaction, quality, and efficiency to achieve our business objectives.

Location: With our Flexible First working arrangements we empower our colleagues to work in a way that best suits them – meaning location doesn’t need to be a barrier. This role can be mostly based at home with flexibility to travel nationally with occasional overnight stays as required.

What will you do?

  • Keep yourself, people, and customers safe; enforce health & safety rules and monitor safety compliance of our people and customers by inspecting the day-to-day safety, technical standard and quality of the domestic electrical installation work carried out.
  • Ensure the technical standard of (direct labour and subcontractor) work through on-site inspection of 10% of completed works.
  • Ensure that all results of inspection and testing are properly recorded on the appropriate prescribed forms of certification and confirming these recorded results are acceptable.
  • Ensure that Building Regulation Compliance Certificates are issued to the appropriate parties within 30 days of completion of the Domestic Electrical Installation work.
  • Fulfil the relevant qualifications and training, including Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements and experience prescribed and published by PH Jones and the NICEIC.
  • Effectively manage an EICR or Electrical Installation/Servicing contract where Qualifying Supervisor responsibilities and geographical location allow.
  • All aspects of people management as well as coaching your team to empower them to deliver high quality customer service with the autonomy to make sound decisions.
  • Invest in your and your team’s personal development, ensuring we adhere to the Training & Competence framework and promote a culture where customers are treated fairly and properly informed.
  • Deliver on the job formal and informal coaching to create shifts in behaviour, to deliver high performance and great outcomes for the customer.
  • Participating in the out of hours duty manager network.

Who are we looking for?

  • Good literacy and numerical ability.
  • Must hold one of these Craft Qualifications and the achievement measurement competency assessment/end point assessment certificate is also required where relevant: Level 3 certificate in installing, testing, and ensuring compliance of electrical installations in dwellings or equivalent certification City & Guilds 2391 or 2394 & 2395 (list available).
  • Must also hold a wiring regulation qualification - Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018 or equivalent 18th Edition (list available).
  • Must also hold an internal verification qualification - Level 3 Award in Electrical Installations or equivalent City & Guilds 2357 or 2365 Part 1 & Part 2 (list available).
  • AM2 National Electrotechnical Training.
  • Demonstrable experience as a Qualifying Supervisor.
