As our business sets up for further growth, we are looking for a Compliance Framework and Governance Lead to join the Ethics & Compliance team.

The role holder will have a high degree of exposure to senior management and be responsible for managing and maintaining the compliance framework and all Centrica Energy’s key compliance management fora.

About the Role

The role holder plays a critical role within the Ethics and Compliance function through ensuring the frameworks and operating model for the function is managed, maintained and adhered to. Additionally, the individual will be required to join Leadership level compliance meetings as secretariat and manage actions/ outputs.

The individual in this role will work across the Ethics and Compliance team and support the Head of Compliance with various matters. The key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Support implementation and maintenance of the compliance framework, policy library and obligations register.

  • Draft, review, and update compliance policies and procedures, ensuring accurate documentation of compliance tasks and decisions.

  • Assist with compliance testing plan and periodic/trigger-based control testing.

  • Support the compliance risk assessment process and communicate key updates relating to compliance reviews.

  • Prepare management information (MI) for the Head of Ethics & Compliance and committee reports.

  • Manage the compliance curriculum, ensuring all training is up-to-date and delivered to the business on time.

  • Provide support for internal and external audit queries and assist with KYC file quality checks for the Financial Crime Team.

Location: This role will be based out of our Aalborg office 3 days per week; however, the successful candidate must be comfortable with international travel (circa 10%).

About You

We are looking for a compliance professional with strategic, technical, economics or legal qualification(s) and a problem-solving mind-set who can utilize their strong written and verbal communication skills to successfully build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. The ideal candidate also has:

  • Experience gained within a compliance function preferably in the energy sector or financial services

  • An understanding of the regulatory landscape (i.e. REMIT, MAR, MIFID) and experience of applying regulatory obligations to the successful execution of your function/ team or role

  • An understanding of financial crime and Know Your Customer processes.

  • Advanced computer literacy (primarily MS Office).

We are a global organisation with offices in Aalborg, Copenhagen, London, Antwerp, Hamburg and Singapore and the team members are based out of different locations. We are looking for a pro-active team player who will be happy to travel frequently between the locations – circa 10% travel expected.
