Business Management Year in Industry Programme

Centrica Energy is the trading arm of Centrica. We trade power, gas, LNG, and energy attributes and connect producers, suppliers and off takers in the wholesale energy markets - and we provide our clients with the best route-to-market services available to the market today with physical and financial settlement approaches. In short we call ourselves Energy Movers By Nature.

We’re a total of 850+ colleagues from over 50 different nations, located in 8 different offices around the world. At our London office, where this programme is allocated, you’ll be joining our international office with over 200 dedicated energy specialists.

Working within a vibrant business environment, you’ll be involved in shaping the future of energy with some of the world’s leading energy investors and businesses that are looking to re-shape the energy industry and bridge the future to a carbon-neutral economy.

You have done some fantastic learning to date; we want to support your journey by adding in some real-world experience. Our inaugural 12 months Business Management Year in Industry Programme aims to compliment your studies and accelerate your development.

The finance teams are pivotal to the success of Centrica and through the programme you can discover what life is like for our Business Managemprofessionals.

Here’s what you will be doing

Your placement will be within one of our finance teams, working at the heart of the Business Management function that amongst many other things provides financial control, performance analysis, critical insight, and decision support across all our business units.

We want you to experience as much as possible and be able to soak up and learn about the wonderful world managing the Centrica Energy business. We will be with you throughout your journey to give you all the support you need!

Throughout the programme, you will be provided with an unparalleled level of support with access to buddies, mentors, and experienced line managers, as well as having a ready-made network of graduates across the business to tap into.

We have a few must-haves

We’re looking for passionate individuals who are analytical, curious, and willing to learn. In addition, we would like you to demonstrate:

  • Predicted minimum 2:1 degree in a Business Management, Economics for closely related degree subject
  • Flexibility to be in the central London office a minimum of 2 days a week
  • Available to start the programme from mid June 2025 – June 2026
  • Able to communicate complex ideas effectively
  • Flexible and proactive with a can-do approach
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Capable of performing in a fast-paced environment
