Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting building surveys, inspections, and condition reports.
  • Support in preparing feasibility studies and technical reports.
  • Assist with defect analysis, measured surveys, and schedule of conditions.
  • Participate in preparing planning and building control applications.
  • Work alongside senior surveyors to assess compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Assist in defect diagnosis and remediation strategies.
  • Work on projects related to fire compartmentation, cladding remediation, and building safety compliance.

Project Management Support

  • Assisting in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of projects.
  • Monitoring project progress and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Supporting budget management and cost control.
  • Helping to identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Collaborate with senior surveyors, engineers and design teams on project delivery.
  • Engage with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Contribute to project management, contract administration, and cost estimation.
  • Keep up to date with relevant legislation, building regulations and fire safety standards.

Essentials

  • A degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of building regulations, construction methods, and industry standards.
  • Ability to write clear and concise technical reports and effectively communicate findings to clients and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working autonomously as well as collaborating in a team environment.
  • A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop.

Desirable Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant software is an advantage.
  • A full UK driving license is desirable but not essential.
  • A keen interest in fire safety, building compliance, and project management.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
