About the Role:

Developer Experience is a product team within Engineering focused on documentation and developer tooling, including SDKs and product-adjacent API tools.

Our mission is to empower developers across an increasing spectrum of abilities to quickly and joyfully become productive with Camunda technologies by curating excellent developer journeys through documentation and product-adjacent tools.

We are looking for a Technical Writer to join our team of Technical Writers and Developer Experience Engineers and continue building on our mission. We are a team of highly empathetic, curious, and tenacious Camundi. Join us as we transition Camunda from engineers to technical writers as our primary documentation authors.

What you'll be doing:

  • Curate, maintain, & edit developer-centric content for Camunda 8
  • Mentor Camundi on applying the Camunda Technical Writing Style Guide
  • Advocate for best practices around designing and writing technical content, including Docs-as-Code
  • Transition Camunda from engineers as primary documentation authors on large or complex features

What you bring:

  • Ability and/or willingness to use our product.
  • 2+ years of technical writing experience, including developer-centric content like user manuals, API reference, technical blogs, and more
  • Experience documenting for a variety of technical and non-technical roles and experience levels, including software engineers, application developers, business analysts, and process owners
  • Experience working with Docs-as-Code and docs frameworks like Docusaurus
  • Ability to work autonomously and asynchronously with teams and cross-functional groups across timezones to accomplish a singular goal

Nice-to-haves:

  • Comfortable iterating on an existing technical writing style guide, advocating for its use cross-functionally
  • Experience transitioning from engineers as primary documentation authors to technical writers as primary documentation authors

What We Have to Offer:

Compensation

For external hires, we consider the skills and experience of the incoming candidate, but typically place candidates in the first half of the range to ensure ample room for growth over the entire lifecycle of the role.

Below is the annual Total Target Cash Compensation (Total Cash) range for Camundi located in one of our entities. Total Cash refers to base salary and 100% attainment of variable target, where applicable. Actual Total Cash offered will depend on factors such as skills and qualifications related to the role. To comprise the Total Rewards package, Camunda also offers equity (where applicable) in the form of a Virtual Employee Stock Option Plan and benefits based on the country of residence.

The annual Total Cash range for this position for Camundi in our entities is as follows:

  • United States: $91,200.00 to $136,800.00
  • Germany: €60,700.00 to €91,000.00
  • United Kingdom: £59,100.00 to £88,700.00
  • Singapore: S$113,300.00 to S$170,000.00

If you are outside one of these countries, you would be employed by our Preferred Employer Organization (PEO), Remote.
