Job Description

Tea is brewing. Caf doors are opening. The day is about to start, and so are our caf team members. Theyre the talented people making every day a little better for our customers. Now, you can join them.

As a Team Member in our caf, you're part of everything - a bit of cooking, a bit of chatting with customers, and a lot of impact. As someone dedicated to great service, youll make sure that every dish you prepare and serve lives up to the promise of our menu and meets all safety standards. Along with this, youll help keep everything, from kitchen equipment to customer tables tidy and clean.

Its a lively role, full of everyday challenges, but thats just one of the reasons its so exciting. A few other reasons include flexible working hours, opportunities for progression and so much more.

Its our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 8 guaranteed hours each week.

The table shows the periods of time in the week wed like you to be available to work the availability windows. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and youll have 3 weeks notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We are happy to support flexibility for our colleagues, therefore if the times youre available to work match closely but not exactly to the times we are advertising, wed still love to hear from you. Please note that you need to be 18 or over to apply for this role.

Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of Tesco as a business, the following provides an overview of the roles key responsibilities and measures:

  • Keeping kitchen equipment and utensils clean and tidy.
  • Serving customers quickly, efficiently and with care.
  • Following food safety and hygiene regulations while keeping daily records.
  • Practising first in, first out (FIFO) stock rotation to keep our food fresh.
  • Accepting deliveries and handling the safe storage of food.
