Job Description
We’re looking for someone that confidently calls themselves a social media expert to join our team. This role requires a blend of creative, analytical, and project management skills to develop and execute high-impact social media strategies that align with our broader brand goals. Reporting into the Social Media Lead, you’ll implement the strategy of our brand’s social media presence across multiple social platforms. Drive the development of content from ideation to execution, while focused on driving engagement and brand advocacy within the dog parents online community.
This is a hybrid working role, offering flexibility with 2 work-from-home days each week. Our office days at the Box Office are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
🎨 In this role, you can expect to …
🔧 Execute the social media strategy.
- Be part of developing and implementing an industry-leading social media strategy for multiple platforms that support our broader brand objectives and goals.
- Implement your knowledge of channel and content growth tactics like SEO optimisations and navigating algorithm updates.
- Analyse social media performance data, presenting key insights and recommendations to stakeholders for strategy optimisation.
- Monitor platform updates, trends, and competitor activity, using these insights to enhance our social media approach.
🎨 Amplify the brand through creative writing and content creation:
- Craft engaging and witty copy across social media channels, from strong hooks to insightful captions commentary that speaks to the psychological drivers behind user engagement, creating a deeper connection with audiences.
- Adapt our writing style to each platform’s unique voice and audience, ensuring posts are concise, relevant, and impactful. Whilst maintaining a consistent, on-brand voice across all platforms and aligning all communications with the brand’s personality and core values.
- Be a culture carrier; understand cultural relevancy and how to position ourselves during topical moments in an authentic way.
- A strong on-screen presence and confident hosting and interview skills
- Lead brainstorming sessions with the wider creative teams to inspire fresh ideas for social-first projects.
📋 Execution & Project Management:
- Plan, lead, and execute social media campaigns from start to finish, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
- Utilise audience and channel insights to pitch and refine content ideas that align with both social media trends and business goals.
- Use project management tools, timelines, and templates to maintain smooth workflow and collaboration across departments.
- Manage and brief external partners, including creators, customers, and creative agencies, ensuring that content aligns with campaign goals and brand messaging.
📊 Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Regularly analyse social media metrics and channel performance to optimise content strategies.
- Interpret data and present insights to stakeholders, highlighting the impact of social media efforts and recommending adjustments for future brand projects.
- Conduct competitor analysis and share findings, maintaining a competitive edge in the social media landscape.
🤝 Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate with our Video Editor, agencies, and external partners to create innovative, visually compelling, and platform-specific content that embodies the brand’s voice, capturing audience attention and driving engagement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align social strategies with broader marketing, email, and digital-first campaigns.
- Actively participate in wider team brainstorms, inspiring and guiding teammates to generate fresh, social-first content ideas.
💬 Audience Engagement & Community Management:
- Monitor and analyse audience behaviour and trends and make recommendations for content improvements.
- Engage with our online community by building authentic connections with followers, responding to feedback, and turning followers into brand advocates.
👋 A bit about you
- Minimum of 3 years in a social media role with demonstrable success in social media strategy, content creation, and campaign management.
- Proficient in all major social platforms, with a deep understanding of best practices and emerging trends, and continuously looking to hone your skills as the social media landscape evolves.
- Highly organised and efficient with strong project management skills and experience using tools for tracking progress, managing timelines, and optimising workflows.
- Ability to conduct in-depth audience research and data analysis to tailor content and optimise strategies based on audience insights.
- Excellent communication skills; able to present ideas clearly, write effective briefs, and work across departments.
- Skilled in visual and written brand storytelling with an eye for detail and the ability to produce captivating, differentiated content that drives engagement.
- A highly strategic, creative and non-traditional thinker
- Passionate about the Butternut brand and the values associated with it.

🛠️ Skilled in Creative copywriting, Notion, Project management tools, and Social media management tools like Sprout Social, Canva, and CapCut. Photography, along with video editing using Photoshop and Premiere Pro skills, would be a Bonus
