Job Description

📣  A bit about the role.

We're thrilled to be bringing our fresh dog food to Germany. Butternut Box are looking for a creative, highly motivated, results-oriented Brand Manager to help drive and define the Butternut brand and be part of the founding and leadership team for Germany. In this role, you’ll execute brand marketing initiatives to grow awareness in a sustainable way. With each project, you’ll play a key role in Butternut’s mission to bring health and happiness to dogs everywhere. If your tail is wagging, read on…

Founded in 2016, Butternut Box has quickly established itself as a love brand among UK dog owners. We go above and beyond for our furry (and not so furry aka human) customers and like to see this represented in our brand. We aim to build a German brand out of this strong foundation, with the goal to later expand this to Austria and Switzerland.

You will report to the Country Manager Germany directly, and will have a dotted line to our Head of Brand in the UK.

🌱 In this role you can expect to:

  • Own and grow the Butternut Box Germany brand’s awareness in a sustainable way.
  • Execute high-impact campaigns that positively position Butternut.
  • Get Butternut talked about and build brand love.
  • Have the freedom to push the boundaries and create impactful work.
  • Meet and pet dogs.

🗒 What you’ll do

Brand Marketing

Grow the brand and build strong impactful initiatives. This is an ever-growing role and the expectations will flourish with the responsibility.

    • Work on bringing brand campaigns and marketing activity to life in a way that is aligned to the central brand positioning and delivers the brand promise in a motivating, relevant and credible way.
    • Be accountable for the campaigns being executed on time and within budget.

Lead on projects that create demand for our products, enhance brand awareness, get people talking, and drive consumer advocacy - all while upholding a smooth, integrated process.

  • Generate ideas that support our ambitious growth objectives in the Germany.
  • Report on the performance of the campaigns you lead and report on the brand’s health on a quarterly basis.

Brand Communications

  • Be a brand guardian and consistently work to articulate and execute on on-brand communication in Butternut’s tone, values, proposition and visual standards.
    • Clarify our offering whilst constantly assessing what is important to our potential customer base
    • Be responsible for maintaining the visual standards, tone and values of Butternut whilst ensuring our communication is localised.
  • Your responsibilities include coordinating the external communication of Butternut in Germany
  • You’ll work to make sure our content is being picked up by reputable news outlets across Germany

👤 Is that you?

  • Brand Managing Experience: confident in your abilities in brand managing with 4+ years experience
  • High standards for operational excellence: that includes budgets, calendars, timelines, and efficiencies.
  • Relationship builder: able to develop influential and collaborative relationships across teams and functions, both internally and externally.
  • Bias for action: a highly creative and non-traditional thinker who just makes things happen.
  • Contemporary Shakespeare: articulate in your vision and can inspire others - from teammates, to customers and of course, dogs and are passionate about the Butternut brand and the values associated with it. Copywriting is second nature to you.
  • G-Suite: fluent in Sheets and Slides, with the ability to produce clear and inviting pitch/overview documents.
  • Adobe Suite: well practiced in adobe suites (not essential, but a big bonus)
  • For the love of dogs: you really like (love?) dogs!
