Why this job matters

This role is to register your interest for the Project Managers roles here at BT in the South West. As a Project Manager you'll execute and coordinate a range of workstreams in the planning, execution and delivery of complex projects/ programmes through all specific phases, in alignment with BT Group strategies and external customer contractual requirements. Partners with BT Group and executive stakeholders within a single or across multiple business units.

What you’ll be doing

1. Works with an integrated team in the delivery of end-to-end projects/ programmes contributing to commercial benefit, deliver on time, within budget and to agreed quality criteria from conception through to market launch and transition into operations.
2. Monitors issue escalations, project risks, dependencies and project changes, ensuring timely intervention and communication to stakeholders.
3. Consults on complex projects/ programmes using advanced technical knowledge with global impact (cross-functional) driving through execution, analysis, recommendation and implementation.
4. Contributes to the development, documentation and implementation of projects/ programmes and change initiatives in line with BT Group policies and strategies, defining and maintaining realistic project plans and monitoring project finances and progress against agreed quality and performance criteria.
5. Supports project/ programme communication with stakeholders with timely reporting on performance and where decision making is required, providing all information needed to enable well-informed decision making.
6. Defines, documents and executes smaller or less complex projects/ programmes, agreeing and reviewing project approach, engagement and communications plans, and quality and performance criteria with project partners.
7. Champions, continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in Project/Programme Management & PMO, e.g., agile methodologies such as LEAN, Six Sigma.
8. Mentors other Project/Programme Management & PMO professionals, helping to improve the team's abilities by acting as a technical resources
9. Influences stakeholders inside and if required outside of BT Group: work collaboratively with business unit partners and corporate support teams to drive strategy execution and partner on segment or functional strategy projects.
10. Proactively identifies and manages risk through regular assessment and diligent execution of controls and mitigations, proactively raising any concerns.
11. Ensures commercial obligations, risks and interdependencies defined within external delivery contracts are applied to their projects/programmes and operates the project/programme governance to manage those elements.
