Job Description

Closing Date: Sept 25th

Why this job matters

This is a 12 month fixed term, full time role.

As the PMO Manager, you'll be leading an experienced PMO team of 6 in delivering high-impact, large-scale programs. Reporting directly to the All IP Director, you will ensure that all PMO services are effectively designed, implemented, and continuously improved. This is not just an operational role; you will be pivotal in aligning our PMO services with the evolving needs of the program. The PMO Manager manages teams in ensuring end to end project planning, coordinating the implementation of project standards, tools, reporting and programme delivery across the portfolio.

We are transforming our portfolio to deliver 5G, Cloud and IP products and solutions for our customers, which is a critical component of BT’s digital transformation and simplification. We have started migrating all our customers to these new products and will retire BT Business’s legacy portfolio fully by 2027. This migration is the largest, and most important customer focused change in our market, for us and our customers in the last 15 years.

This is an opportunity to take on a pivotal role in a transformative project where you’ll gain invaluable experience, work with a dedicated and high-performing team, and contribute to one of the most significant customer-focused migrations in the industry. If you’re ready for a challenge and want to make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Ensure that PMO processes are aligned with the broader goals of the IP Migrations Programme and are executed with precision and efficiency.
  • Act as the primary liaison between senior management and the PMO team, ensuring clear communication and effective execution of tasks.
  • Maintain a "hands-on" approach, diving into the details when necessary, while also keeping sight of the bigger picture.

Experience Required

  • Extensive PMO Experience: You have significant experience in both Portfolio and Program management, with a track record of leading PMO services at a senior level.
  • Leadership: You are comfortable with people management and can demonstrated guiding a high-performing team, fostering a positive culture, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to pivot and adapt PMO services in response to changing program demands, ensuring that delivery remains on track.
  • Communication: Familiar interacting with C-suite executives. You are comfortable operating at a director level and conveying complex ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Certification: P3O or similar accreditation is desirable, not mandatory.

A FEW POINTS TO NOTE:

Although these roles are listed as full-time, if you’re a job share partnership, work reduced hours, or any other way of working flexibly, please still get in touch. We will also offer reasonable adjustments for the selection process if required, so please do not hesitate to inform us.

DON'T MEET EVERY SINGLE REQUIREMENT?

Studies have shown that women and people who are disabled, LGBTQ+, neurodiverse or from ethnic minority backgrounds are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every single qualification and criteria.

We're committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace where everyone can be their best, so if you're excited about this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every requirement on the Job Description, please apply anyway - you may just be the right candidate for this or other roles in our wider team.
