Why this job matters

This role holder is responsible for the effective Payroll Delivery for colleagues across Hungary, CEER and other European countries in scope. This includes ensuring a quality and consistent experience across the employee lifecycle aligning to BT Group standards and HR best practices. The role holder is also responsible for providing HR Service to other countries across our estate supporting local HR.

What I’ll be doing – your accountabilities

  • Overall Payroll Activity for Hungary including:
  • Collecting input files from all BUs, transform, review and summarize files for final input
  • Checking monthly payroll (core payroll sheet with overtime, commute to work, sick-leaves, tax allowances, legal deductions)
  • Handling legal deductions (sending out answers and notification to employees)
  • Produce accurate reports, data extracts and conduct audits using MyHR, databases on SharePoints and excels whilst ensuring adherence with confidentiality and data protection policies
  • Managing absence issues, vacation reconciliation (HR System vs. Nexon), annual leave balance modifications
  • Managing mid-month payments
  • Follow up and control of exit process ensuring compliance to legal requirement.
  • Provide HR customers and colleagues with an excellent HR customer service and experience by managing administrative tasks effectively and within defined SLAs
  • HR Helpdesk – handling of salary/payment/reference tickets & Responsible for weekly and ad hoc posting to external payroll company, providing professional support for interns and controls administration
  • Take personal ownership for resolving HR requests and tasks by working beyond organisational and functional boundaries; Challenge customer requests which do not align with BT policies and practices
  • General Payroll support for EU Countries

Czech Republic, Sweden, Poland, Luxembourg

  • Collecting input files, transform, review and summarize files for final input
  • Checking final outcome
  • Supporting local team in Audits and report request

Professional skills:

  • HR expertise: an expert generalist with in-depth knowledge of the Labour Law, Tax and Social Security Regulations together with local policy & process, with a thirst for new knowledge in the field
  • Demonstrates an ability to learn and think quickly
  • In depth knowledge of core HR systems (SAP), expert in Excel and familiar with other MS products, knowledge of payroll software is an advantage.

Language skills:

  • Fluent in English language (Conversational in any other European language is an advantage)

2. Supports in the delivery of processes and procedures for the organisation and ensures timely and accurate reporting of information.
3. Undertakes end-to-end processes and systems to best requirements, operational needs and best value.
4. Undertakes activities that contribute to the implementation of organisational policies and procedures, ensuring required updates in policy are included, and the mission and strategic vision are clearly communicated.
5. Contributes to the delivery of specified function personnel record keeping related to matters such as new hires, employee reviews, promotions, transfers and separations. Ensures that personnel records meet all standards of accreditation.
6. Supports in the implementation of ways to improve people processes.
