Job Title: Networks Lead Infrastructure Services

Locations: Cheltenham, Ipswich, London, Sheffield

Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you may be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

The Networks Lead for Infrastructure Services will support the strategy of the Infrastructure Services Team to ensure a proactive, can-do, innovative behaviour is embedded in the culture of the services we provide to our customers and internal users. This is achieved through the building of relationships across wider GSS and BT, challenging the current ways of working and identifying innovative approaches that enable the department to work more effectively and efficiently with agility and a customer centric focus. Ensuring a Service Management best practice approach is adopted and followed with a culture of continuous improvement is part of our DNA. Promoting shared responsibilities and shared outcomes and discouraging and breaking silos of activity promoting a One GSS culture across the services we deliver.

What you’ll do:

  • Support BT Security to sell solutions and win new business by designing, delivering, and operating networks, platforms, and systems in support of our special customers.
  • Deliver and operate these services to the agreed performance standards whilst operating within agreed budgets.
  • Ownership and coordination of the Infrastructure Service governance structures ensuring data driven decisions are at the centre of all decisions and priorities.
  • Performance reviews and customer engagement to ensure the services we deliver continue to delight the customers and stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to drive efficiency and effectiveness through the adoption of industry best practice and technology/tools.
  • Set direction and priority for internal improvements to drive effectiveness for wider GSS to design, build and deliver new services.
  • Support BT Security Technology Services on the operating model aligning to the changes in the technology and customer landscape.
  • Own service escalations to ensure customer issues and complaints are managed and dealt with effectively.
  • Provide Technical and Managerial leadership in the development and delivery of the Technology Services goals and objectives providing coaching and leadership to the delivery leads across the team.
  • Support the development of new bids and provide the technical and managerial oversight of new opportunities and their design and delivery.
  • Line manages 6 direct reports of the Infrastructure Service team with a network focus

What you'll bring:

  • Experience in the design and transition of substantial IP network solutions
  • Experience as 2nd and 3rd line support of complex IP network solutions
  • Experience in supporting major bids as the network design subject matter expert.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to operate within a complex and challenging external customer environment.
  • Team leadership and coaching
  • Cisco CCNP or higher certification or equivalent experience
  • Service management experience within the IT industry
  • Ownership of network/platform operations and deliverables
  • Design, test, delivery and support of Cisco Routing, Switching and Firewall networks/platforms
