Why this job matters

We are transforming our portfolio to deliver 5G, Cloud and IP products and solutions for our customers, which is a critical component of BT’s digital transformation and simplification. We have started migrating all our customers to these new products and will retire Enterprise’s legacy portfolio fully by 2025. This migration is the largest, and most important customer focused change in our market, for us and our customers in the last 15 years.

To meet the product, network and exchange closure timescales we need to accelerate Enterprise’s customer migrations. This requires an expanded migration programme to plan and execute sufficient migration activity across all our customer segments to achieve the optimum commercial and customer outcomes, on time.

What you’ll be doing

  • Accountable for supporting the delivery of communication vertical workstream, that are served against dedicated organisations such as PR, Marketing, Internal comms, Public Affairs and Regulatory.
  • Works with an integrated team in the delivery of end-to-end projects/ programmes contributing to commercial benefit, deliver on time, within budget and to agreed quality criteria from conception through to market launch and transition into operations.
  • Monitors issue escalations, project risks, dependencies and project changes, ensuring timely intervention and communication to stakeholders.
  • Consults on complex projects/ programmes using advanced technical knowledge with global impact (cross-functional) driving through execution, analysis, recommendation and implementation.
  • Contributes to the development, documentation and implementation of projects/ programmes and change initiatives in line with BT Group policies and strategies, defining and maintaining realistic project plans and monitoring project finances and progress against agreed quality and performance criteria.

Skills you'll have

  • Programme Management - Good project/Programme management skills with experience of delivering solutions to business customers
  • Internal and external communications – Good experience dealing with both Internal and External communications to customers/vendors.
  • Senior Stakeholder Engagement - Able to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders (Senior Management level) to collaborate and carry out the functions of the role.
  • Relationship building - Maintain close connection and strong relationships with key stakeholders in the operation of project delivery
  • Organisational Transformation - Analytical and structured, with ability to manage complexity
  • Risk Management - Takes ownership and mitigates issues and risks. With strong leadership skills in giving direction and making the correct call using data to evidence decision making and mitigate programme risks
  • Business Strategy - Great communicator of plans and delivery information. With strong skills in building the case for change and drawing on data and analytical techniques to gain commitment from business audiences

Experience you'll have

  • Experience as a Project/Programme Manager, delivering complex solutions.
  • Experience of delivering a range of IT and network communications. Ideally this should be in a range of industry sectors.
  • Expected to have attained a project management qualification – Prince 2, MSP, APM RPP etc.
  • Working with customers at Senior Management roles (i.e. IT Manager, Programme Manager etc.).
  • Creating Stakeholder management and Communication Plans.
  • Managing risk.
  • Knocking down internal barriers and issues that exist in other parts of the business.
  • Building and managing virtual delivery teams.
  • Experience of producing accurate and timely management information to support decision making.
