Why this job matters

Our team is responsible for data quality across the Global Services organisation. We own all aspects of DQ and ultimate responsibility for the completeness and accuracy of all 3rd party access inventory across Global Services along with validation of supplier invoice for payments and timely payment.

The role requires the person to manage 3rd party access/voice inventory and doing invoice validation at a regional level for complete and accurate commercial inventory for one or more legal entities.

What you’ll be doing


• Create/update/Modify/Cease inventory records as per BT ordering system in STARS and Local inventory database.
• Perform monthly reconciliations between ordering system and supplier inventory & Invoice records to keep the inventory up to date and complete.
• Support procurement and Global access team in end to end renewal process.
• Do daily/weekly review of invoice matching discrepancies identified on the STARS commercial inventory system.
• Invoice validator will need to manage and close all disputes raised with the supplier.
• The invoice validator will need to work closely with the inventory manager to ensure that errors in the inventory spotted through the invoice validation process are corrected.
• The invoice validator will need to liaise with Accounts Payable to give authorisation to pay or withhold supplier payments
• The invoice validator should be familiar with the terms of BT’s contract with each supplier so that they can check that the supplier is billing BT consistently with these conditions.
• Good knowledge of order processes (specifically local processes that do not use order systems)
• Good knowledge of Telco products and inventory data
• Good knowledge of internal trading processes and rules
• Understanding of basic accounting concepts e.g. accruals, cost allocation.
