What you’ll be doing:
Providing oversight of the configuration, implementation, integration, delivery & commissioning workstreams within network delivery for global managed network customers in BT Business, along with line management for team managers of those engineering teams. Driving the Managed Services strategic agenda to deliver the best results for BT Business and our customers. This will include more specific activities such as…
- Line management of the Network Delivery Team Managers, including holding regular performance reviews & coaching.
- Working with team managers to ensure the appropriate number of resources are deployed to cover current & upcoming work and ensuring workforce costs are kept in line to ensure an optimum financial return on resource deployed for the business.

- Network Engineers are following correct processes
- Network Engineers are strictly adhering to all security rules/guidelines for the jobs/contracts on which they are working.
- Support/deal with any issues arising from any deliveries undertaken by our teams.
- Take ownership of delivery teams issues so that they are supported/flagged/escalated accordingly to conclusion.
- Assist with responses/input into New Product Launch requests
- Assist with responses/input into Bid Support requests
- Assist with the Production Planning model to deliver demand and capacity planning
- Attend Customer meetings when / where required to provide strategic guidance, oversight, outline procedures, collate/pull in appropriate resource/support for a concerned customer or if customer needs are complex. etc. to ensure the smooth running of projects if management intervention is felt to be necessary by either the customer or BT.
The skills and experience you need:
Technical:
- High level understanding of managed IT infrastructure, and associated processes.
- Operate IT systems and applications relevant to the role
Data:
- Proficient in manipulating and presenting data for different audiences (strong in excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint)
Systems:
- Understand BT’s systems and processes used within the Managed Services area.
People:
- People management skills to coach the individuals in the teams
Professional:
- Have a professional and pragmatic approach to work, ensuring availability when needed, a strong focus on achieving goals, taking ownership and driving results.
- Proactively manage own time and workload, highlighting and any issues or concerns back through the delivery team or senior management team.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to take in different requirements from stakeholders and negotiate mutually agreeable outcomes with pragmatism
