Salary £32,500

You’re not just looking for a career, you’re looking to make a difference.

Millions of people rely on us every day to help them live their lives, power their businesses, and keep their public services running. We connect friends to family, clients to colleagues, people to possibilities. We keep the wheels of business spinning, and the emergency services responding. And we use the power of technology to help solve big challenges, like climate change and cyber security.

From day one, you’ll have a voice at BT Group. You’ll get stuck in to tough challenges, pitch in with ideas, make things happen. You won’t be alone though: we’ll be there with help and support through you’re learning and development. You’ll make great friends, discover new talents, and feel part of something exhilarating.

This is your chance to make a real difference to the world. Grab it.

About this role

If you are looking for a role that puts you in the driving seat of your career and gives you an insight into multiple different areas of an international business, then look no further.

We think the best way for you to learn how a business works is to gain experience in various parts of it. Our Business Explorer Graduate scheme is focused on building key skills for the future transformation of BT to better support our customers and build your future career within our organisation.

During this scheme, you’ll rotate around our business and complete three eight-month rotations across the following key areas:

  • Transformation - working in an agile environment you could be doing roles such as project management, customer experience design, change roles or scrum master.
  • Customer - working in support or our service or sales teams to build your customer awareness and how critical they are to our business.
  • Commercial - working in commercial or finance teams to ensure you understand how a company works and how to create value.

Alongside your rotations you will partake in a learning plan focussed on behaviours and technical skills.

What’s in it for me?

We’ll help you develop a variety of commercial skills such as building relationships, influencing, negotiation, project management, and account management. From the exposure of multiple areas, you’ll gain a deep insight into how we do things (and even suggest how we should make them better!).

Our clients are all businesses, from small companies to FTSE 100 giants; and you will need to make sure that whatever project you’re working on has their best interests at heart. It’s not just clients you’ll need to work with, we’re a big business so you’ll need to partner with numerous other stakeholders too.

A big part of this role is looking after our reputation, and we put a lot of focus on making sure we’re acting in a responsible way. We’ll give you the training and exposure you need to ensure we’re always acting ethically and doing the best thing for our customers. You’ll become a well-rounded, commercially savvy professional whose skills will be in high demand in any role.

We expect you to demonstrate that you are proactive, can take initiative and are focused on continuing to grow and develop. We believe that collaboration is key to success, and you will typically be in our amazing offices three days a week.

After your time on the programme, we’ll support you to find your perfect role aligned to your strengths and interests.
