This is an exciting opportunity to work in a small team of IT experts, to train in new technologies and expand your knowledge of IT systems and how to maintain them to an exacting standard. In this role, you will be working within the defence space as a 2nd Line Engineer within a technical team maintaining the BT defence IT tooling platforms which provide the systems to support multiple defence contracts.
Locations: Chippenham - Onsite 5 days (1 day a week upskilling)

What You'll Be Doing at BT
- Provide 2nd Line support for Server-related issues, including user access, permissions, and content management.
- Monitor and maintain the health and performance of a Vblock platform.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Assist with the maintenance and administration of servers and network infrastructure.
- Collaborate with 1st and 3rd line support to escalate and resolve more complex issues.
- Document solutions and maintain accurate records of incidents and resolutions.
- Participate in IT projects and deployments as required.
- Ensure compliance with company IT policies and procedures.
Skills and Requirements
- Willing to undergo Government Security Clearance to DV level, which requires residence in the UK for a minimum of 10 years.
- Good knowledge in VMWare Virtual Computing
- Good Knowledge of Windows Operating systems
- Proficiency in using IT service management tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
