Job Title

The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world.

Boomi is looking for a software engineering leader to manage and lead world-class engineering teams for core Integration and Application Services that power our market leading cloud-native integration platform that serves over 20,000 customers. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, people management, technical and business acumen, and project management skills, with a history of success in high-growth SaaS companies building modern cloud platforms at scale.

What You Will Do

• Lead multiple engineering teams and managers for various integration and application services including distributed orchestration technologies, application security, API, connectivity, service/microservice frameworks, common libraries and more.

• Manage, mentor and coach first line managers and senior individual contributors and architects, hiring and retaining A-level talent. Develop the team’s domain expertise, technical proficiencies and professional growth, to maintain the highest level of engineering standards.

• Develop a progressive engineering culture that fosters creativity, collaboration and continuous learning/growth mindset. Champion agile and lean principles promoting ownership and alignment to company goals.

• Work with product management, platform architecture and other engineering leaders to shape our vision for the next-level of our services.

• Provide strategic leadership and hands-on technical oversight to other engineering teams, with a customer first and data-driven mindset.

• Work with Domain Leaders and develop future looking strategic engineering roadmaps, capacity plans, budgets, and hiring plans for effective execution.

• Implement features to meet growing, global enterprise customer needs with new emerging technologies. Deliver at a rapid cadence, while maintaining the ability to quickly rollback or remediate releases to ensure highest availability for customers.

• Enable service operational aspects working with the Site Reliability Engineering, DevSecOps, and DevOps teams for scalability, performance, resiliency, availability, and maintainability; to ensure the best customer experience as well as employee quality of life.

• Deliver roadmap and customer success operational updates using actionable metrics to highlight execution progress and impediments. Own business outcomes.

• Collaborate with Boomi engineering partners and provide oversight and guidance to ensure execution and delivery of agreed outcomes.

What you will need to succeed in this role

• Passionate about cloud native platforms, learning, and continually disrupting ourselves.

• 20+ years’ in software development, delivering true PaaS or SaaS services at massive scale in public clouds with increasing scope of responsibilities. Proven track record of executing projects with major business impacts. Knack for delivering business value iteratively to delight customers in a continuous fashion. Good grasp on technology market areas driving the market. Experience with Integration, iPaaS, API Management, Event Driven Architecture or other massive scale multi-tenant technologies is highly desirable.

• Proven experience in hiring, building and leading high performance, globally distributed engineering teams, including ramping up new teams, and managing remote teams.

• Technical knowledge to provide credible hands-on management to highly qualified engineers and deliver on aggressive, deeply technical roadmaps. Unafraid to try new technologies, arbitrate complex technical discussions, and make challenging decisions.

• Strategic thinker with strong executive and operational skills. Hands-on experience in application development, CI/CD, DevOps principles, true agile/lean principles, cloud-native patterns and tools.

• Great written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present ideas to technical and business, and at the executive, customer, company and team-level.

• Effective leadership, change management, project management, influencing and decision making skills. A self-starter who can thrive in ambiguity and builds trust. Has a “can do” attitude and entrepreneurial resourcefulness in getting things done for multi-constituent stakeholders in a fast-paced environment of continuous change.

• Up to 25% travel domestic / international
