About the role

Our Asset Performance business line comprises specialists from across the entire range of disciplines needed to address a full spectrum of engineering asset management issues. Our services span the full lifecycle of ownership and blend enterprise-level consultancy, solving real-world business critical problems, with unmatched engineering analytical pedigree.

As part of our exciting growth plans, we are looking for Through Life Support (TLS) Managing Consultants to join the team in developing cost effective support-based outputs or complete support solutions for defence based equipment, in line with relevant national and international standards and guidance.

As a TLS Managing Consultant your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a standalone subject matter expert (SME) on all TLS based inputs in support of major projects / programmes.
  • Planning for and generation of project / programme outputs specific to TLS activities and analysis.
  • Self-assessment and maintenance of skills within the Asset Performance / BMT DAS UK capability matrices.
  • Technical ownership of case studies / white papers as required by the business.
  • Technical Lead for bid support throughout the bid management process.
  • Support and mentorship of developing peers.
  • Managing and progressing personal professional development.

You will be expected to engage in a variety of TLS related engineering tasks in support of the core Through Life Engineering Solutions (TLES) Business Unit: including TLS Management Planning, Supportability Analysis activities, various Modelling and Simulation activities (LORA, FMECA, MTAs etc), Maintenance Engineering, Reliability & Maintainability, and Spares Provisioning / Inventory Management.

These roles can be based out of our Fareham, Bath or Plymouth offices. Some travel to client sites and for meetings will be required.

  • Capability Leadership / Engagement – Working within our capability matrix to ensure BMT is kept up to speed with the latest developments in its active standards and marketspaces
  • Line Management – Aligned, where practical, to your capability providing the opportunity to nurture and support individuals within the BMT team
  • R&D and Innovation – Opportunities to engage with BMTs R&D and innovative teams looking to the future of the business in support of our core values

About you

We are looking for self-starting team members capable of undertaking roles within major projects / programmes delivering. Our ideal candidate will have a demonstrable experience of:

Working to Def Stan 00-600 and surrounding policies / processes including but not limited to pertinent JSPs, the Defence Logistics Framework (DLF) and the ASD-STANs.

Working knowledge within the UK Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) environment as the customer / industry partner.

The UK/International Defence Industry.

A working or foundation knowledge/awareness of the ASD suite of standards surrounding ASD x000i is desirable but not essential, BMT acknowledges that these standards are still comparatively junior in their adoption.

Please note, to be considered for this role you must be a UK National and eligible to hold UK Security Clearance at SC level.
