About the role
This role forms part of our growth plans, we are looking for a Safety and Environmental Legislation Graduate Consultant to support the Safety and Environmental discipline. You will play a key role in delivering safety and environmental legislative projects, enhancing our capabilities in relation to safety and environmental legislation within the Defence sector but also in a wider market.
As a Safety and Environmental Legislative Graduate Consultant, you will enjoy a varied role as you support, and at times manage, the delivery of legislative projects to schedule and budget, while meeting client and corporate expectations. You will be responsible for the maintenance and update of legislative tools and the end-to-end authoring process of material to define and capture legislation activities. You will also have the opportunity to support senior colleagues with business development activities and liaise with clients and end users on safety and environmental legislative compliance issues.
In terms of location, we have offices in Bath, Bristol, Weymouth, Fareham, Plymouth, Glasgow, London, Aberdeen and Leeds, and we are happy to explore flexible and hybrid working arrangements. Please note that travel to customer sites or to attend meetings will be required.
About you
We are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and flexible team members, who share our values of trust, respect and collaboration. The experience and competencies required for the role are as follows:
- Knowledge of applying statutory safety and environmental legislative methods to help clients attain, and manage, legislation compliance;
- A relevant qualification in a legal subject;
- A minimum of two years’ legislative experience.
- A recognised safety or environmental qualification is desirable;
- Experience in the UK defence domains, particularly maritime would be advantageous;
- As much of our work is directly customer focused, your effective communication skills and ability to present professionally both verbally and in writing are essential skills for this role;
- You will be self-motivated with a motivated and have a logical and pragmatic approach to problem solving, be flexible and have a genuine enthusiasm to contribute to the growth of a successful business;
- You must have a proactive approach to continual professional development. We value professional qualifications and professional registration with appropriate bodies, and we can provide support, training, and tailored experience for you to achieve these, if not already held.
You must be able to satisfy UK Ministry of Defence security requirements and be eligible to work in the UK to be considered for this role.
