To continue our growth in our maritime infrastructure business, an exciting opportunity has become available for a Project Manager to join our team in Perth, Western Australia.

If you're passionate about the maritime environment and possess exceptional leadership skills, and thrive in a collaborative environment, then this is the perfect opportunity for you. This Project Manager position will combine Project Management skills with industry technical experience to work with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high quality maritime projects, with a focus on environmental impact assessments and regulatory approvals.

We are looking for a self-starting team member capable of undertaking roles within our portfolio of coastal and maritime projects and with the opportunity to manage significant projects within our programme. You will also help contribute to business development and promotional activities.

We have an active work portfolio with public and private sector clients including, Department of Transport, Southern Ports, Pilbara Ports Authority and Rio Tinto

This opportunity would suit a Junior-Mid Level Project Manager who is looking to:

  • Make a positive impact on project delivery outcomes
  • Mentor younger project engineers in their project management journey
  • Build upon existing and develop new client relationships to further the WA and Singapore maritime business.

To be successful in your new role, you will display experience in and have the ability to:

  • Project manage a range of diverse projects to scope and within time, cost and quality requirements involving independence in approach, and individual judgement and initiative.
  • Manage and monitor technical delivery activities of technically varied projects, which may involve multiple organisations, regions and/or disciplines.
  • Be able to prepare, review and submit proposals / tenders.
  • Perform peer reviews of various projects, from a cost, schedule and quality perspective.
  • Share knowledge and act as mentor within your area of project management expertise.
  • Adhere to, and actively promote, quality, safety and environmental procedures/standards.
  • Liaise with clients, potential and current, for the purposes of work generation, service delivery, networking, and business development.
  • Select/identify new areas of improvement.

Relevant Education, Experience, and Skills:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other relevant area of study such as Marine, resource sector or Environmental Science,.
  • 5-10 years of experience post-graduation with at least 2 years of experience in project delivery.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical background.
  • Knowledge of relevant State and Federal Legislation.
  • Existing client network in environmental policy, assessment and approvals.
  • The ability to coach and mentor graduates.
  • Right to work in Australia with no restrictions.

Desirable:

  • Post graduate degree (Honours, Masters, PhD) in relevant field.
  • Experience working within the ports, energy or resources sectors.
  • Current Australian driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
