About the role

Are you a skilled and enthusiastic IT professional looking to join a supportive team? We're looking for an IT Engineer to play a key role in keeping our company's IT systems running smoothly.

You'll work alongside a friendly and knowledgeable team, providing technical support and helping to implement new systems. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Installing and maintaining new hardware and software, ensuring everything runs efficiently.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical problems as they arise, keeping downtime to a minimum.
  • Supporting colleagues with their IT needs, providing clear explanations and solutions.
  • Ensuring IT security is up to date by implementing security solutions and best practices.
  • Creating training materials and providing guidance to help colleagues get the most out of our IT systems.

In terms of location, our offices are in Bath, offering flexible and hybrid working arrangements for this full-time position.

About you

We're looking for someone who is passionate about IT and thrives in a collaborative environment. Here are the skills you'll need to succeed:

  • Excellent communication skills: You can explain complex technical issues clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills: You can identify the root cause of problems, develop effective solutions, and prioritise tasks efficiently.
  • Organisation and attention to detail: You can keep accurate records of incidents, support requests, and resolutions.
  • Strong understanding of networking and IT security: You're familiar with key concepts like TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, and zero trust security models.
  • Solid foundation in the Microsoft ecosystem: Experience with Microsoft products and operating system deployment (SCCM or Intune) is a plus.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with Azure Fundamentals, Network+, or Security+ certifications.
  • Knowledge of Azure IaaS (virtual machines, storage, and networking).
  • Experience with identity and security administration (Active Directory or Entra).
  • Basic understanding of automation and scripting (PowerShell, Power Automate).
