About the role
The Head of Regional Sales UK/Europe is a key leadership role within the Future Business team. You will lead a team of high-performing sales professionals to secure profitable orders and ensure BMT's growth targets are met in the region. Reporting to the Future Business Director UK/Europe and focusing on capturing in-year opportunities, you will work closely with Business Development, Marketing, and Bidding counterparts, as well as programme and capability teams.
This role requires a blend of technical and interpersonal skills. You will leverage the sales team's understanding of customer behaviours to drive regional growth and position BMT within existing markets. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders is crucial, and you must embody the values and behaviour expected of a senior leader in our growing business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the regional sales team to achieve annual order targets.
- Work closely with Business Development, Marketing, and Bidding teams.
- Ensure collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive regional growth based on customer behaviours.
In terms of location, we have offices in Bath, Bristol, London, Fareham, Weymouth, Glasgow, Leeds and Plymouth and we are happy to explore flexible and hybrid working arrangements. The role will include travel to BMT sites which may include overseas travel.
About you
- Experience in a senior Sales/Business Development role with evidence of market growth.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to translate market trends into profitable decisions.
- Experience setting and meeting order intake targets, sales forecasting, and managing the sales pipeline.
- Skills in implementing performance metrics for the sales function.
- The ability to build and maintain customer relationships, understanding their needs and objectives.
Additionally, you should have expertise in client-focused research to understand evolving client needs and market trends. You will need to develop a regional plan to define and grow customer accounts, focusing on integrity in all customer interactions to become a trusted partner.
Participation in events and exhibitions to promote BMT and managing the bids and proposals budget for the region are also key responsibilities. The role includes line management of a regional sales team, managing resources effectively, and proven leadership abilities to influence and motivate teams.
You will possess exceptional communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences, demonstrated emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, strong reasoning and problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to build positive and effective working relationships within BMT.
In addition to these specific duties, you may be required to undertake other responsibilities from time to time to support the role's purpose.
