What is the Global Graduate and Apprenticeship Programme?

As a BMT graduate, you will be part of an exciting 2-year development programme that will equip you with the knowledge, skills and experience that you will need to propel your career to the next level. You will receive a tailored training programme designed to provide you key skills you will require for your role, whilst also providing a wider awareness of the other business lines within BMT and other business operations. You will also be paired with a mentor who will support your development within BMT.

BMT partner with many of the professional institutions so if Chartership is a route that you are interested in, we will support you by providing chartership mentor who will support you with your application and by paying the membership fees for your chosen institution.

About the role

Due to the current and future workload requirements within BMT, we are looking for Graduates with an Engineering background to join our specialists within the Asset Performance Management team. The team form an integral part of our product and service design teams, focused on analysing and enhancing the designs and services we provide and product support solutions we develop and implement, using the following techniques:

• Supportability Engineering, including Technical Publications;
• Reliability and Maintainability Engineering;
• Availability Modelling;
• Environmental Protection and Sustainability;
• Obsolescence Risk Assessment and Management;
• Simulation and Modelling;
• Through Life Cost Analysis;
• Data Analysis.

The Asset Performance Management team are focused on ensuring our clients products and services provide a high level of operational availability are safe to operate and maintain, are environmentally friendly, future proofed and sustainable, whilst maintaining value for money, throughout the product and service lifecycle.

As a Graduate within Asset Performance Management, you will be involved with a wide variety of projects across a range of market areas. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates with an interest in developing their skills in one or more of our capability areas. You can expect to receive training and guidance from our experienced employees, and we will support you to start the journey to achieve Chartered status within your technical profession.

About you

Do you have the following?

• A desire to make a difference in your chosen field;
• A relevant degree such as mechanical / aeronautical / systems / electronic engineering, applied Science / mathematics / environmental management or another relevant degree;
• An interest to develop your skills to align with our services and a desire to deliver within our various markets;
• Dedication to providing first-class service to our clients and the determination to further their career and gain Chartered status;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Excellent team building skills;
• Although not essential, some experience of numerical/statistical analysis and tools (e.g. MS Excel and Access) would be beneficial;
• Flexibility and mobility to be able to work across BMT offices and customer sites throughout the UK.
