About the role

The Cross-Capability Consultant role places you within a broad team spanning several capabilities within the Asset Management discipline spectrum. The role sets an expectation on the individual to develop a foundation and then expand upon their level of knowledge and experience across the following core capabilities including but not limited to;

  • Through Life Support Management
  • Asset Management
  • Reliability Centred Maintenance
  • Reliability and Maintainability
  • Obsolescence
  • Human Factors
  • Technical Information and Documentation

Working pan-domain [Land, Sea, and Air], the role will exposed you to a variety of programmes and projects, delivering consultant support in order to satisfy needs of BMTs global customer base. The role requires consultants to engage as part of a team or as an individual depending on the needs of the customer and their programmes/projects.

In terms of location, we have offices in; Bath, Bristol, Fareham, Glasgow, Plymouth, and Weymouth. BMT provide our consultants with the flexibility of hybrid working arrangements dependant on the needs of the given programme/project. Please note that travel to customer sites or to attend meetings will be required. This role is available part-time, job-share or full-time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.

About you

This role would be ideally suited for recent service leavers at OF1, OF2 and SNCOs. The ideal candidate would have staff experience within a civilian orientated MOD work space whilst having experience of engineering support to maintain operational capability as well as an awareness of Integrated Logistics Support.

  • an Ex-Service member (or transitioning through the Career Transition Partnership)
  • A Civil Servant with exposure to MoD engineering policy and process
  • STEM Returner or former Graduate of an industry-based contractor/consultancy

Your primary focus as a Cross Capability Consultants is to grow and develop your skills within our broader capabilities as listed above. In doing so not only will you bolster BMT’s core capabilities, but you will also gain experience and exposure to the ways of working within any given capability which will in turn lead to a defined career pathway best suited to the needs of BMT and you as an individual.

This role will require full UK security clearance and you should have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.
