About the role

Our Management Consultancy team is recognised by our customers for the calibre of our people and integration of Social Value in our work, as demonstrated by our short-listing in the 2023 Management Consultancy Awards. We are looking to build on this success expanding our services in Business Transformation and Change, particularly in the areas of Strategy, Organisational Design, Business Analysis and Change Management.

Using a mix of strong business acumen, core consulting skills, technical professional skills and leadership experience; the role provides independent, impartial advice and expertise to customers, enabling them to achieve the outcomes that they deserve. In doing this, you will support customers to develop the specialist skills required to deliver sustainable, beneficial change.

Every role at BMT has been mapped to a Global Career level (1-7). These career levels represent different levels of experience and seniority across BMT. These roles have been mapped to a Career Level of 3 and 4.

These are full-time roles and will require a mix of remote, hybrid and onsite working, where this may be in our offices including London, Bath, or Bristol, or on customer sites. Travel will be required.

About you

The roles will require someone with a combination of technical and softer skills – how you do things is as important as what you do. The success in this role demands a strong strategic and analytical orientation coupled with exceptional communication skills, as well as a highly developed collaborative nature.

Successful candidates will:

• Have demonstrable experience of working in and delivering complex transformation projects and programmes in Agile and/or Waterfall delivery environments.
• Experience (at least three years) in projects underpinned by technical skills in areas such as change strategy, organisation design, target operating model development, business analysis and change management.
• Ideally have experience of working with UK Central Government ministerial departments
• Able to flexibly select, combine and apply your own technical knowledge and specialisms to address any particular customer problem.
• Articulate methodologies, evaluation, and results in a straightforward, understandable, and non-technical manner.
• Be an independently minded critical thinker able to navigate complexity and delivering change
• Be a people and cultural change advocate with excellent engagement skills. You will demonstrate the ability to bring the best out of people, both within our team and across those of customers.
• Have strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Be driven by the delivery of beneficial customer outcomes and sustainable impact.
• Be able to demonstrate the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and adverse situations whilst remaining calm, reassuring others, and maintaining delivery and performance.

Some of projects require our people to have received security clearance at SC level.
