Diversity, Equality and Culture at Bippit

At Bippit, we embrace a culture that acknowledges and values the strength derived from our differences. Our team members are selected not to replicate who we already have, but to enhance and diversify our culture. In line with this ethos, we commit to the following core principles:

  • Diversity and Differences: We actively encourage and celebrate diversity and differences within our team and respect the unique perspectives and experiences that each individual brings.
  • Respectful Communication: We foster an environment of open communication, where every team member's voice is heard, and we listen to and respect everyone's needs. We strive to create a sense of belonging for all employees.
  • Openness and Inclusivity: By default, we prioritise openness, honesty, transparency, and authenticity. We believe that an inclusive environment contributes to the strength and success of our Bippit.

Who are Bippit? What is our mission? 🚀

Financial wellbeing is more important than ever. We are in a climate where 60% of employees say financial matters are their #1 cause of stress, and financial concerns make employees 4x more likely to be clinically depressed.

Bippit is tackling financial wellbeing head on, by helping employees navigate the Cost of Living situation, deal with financial stress, and by supporting businesses, who are losing billions each year due to retention issues and employee engagement.

Thanks to Bippit, every single employee now has free access to 1:1 coaching from a qualified professional, and all the tools they need to manage their financial lives, so they feel less stressed, more secure, and more settled in their job.

So, what is our goal? 🎯

Bippit wants to provide everyone with guidance from a financial expert, no matter their situation, starting point, or bank balance.

We want to create a fairer society, where each of us has the tools and support we need to build a better financial future.

We want to normalise the conversation around money.

What you'll be doing as our People & Talent Lead (Mat Cover) 💼

Please note this is a 11 month fixed term Maternity Cover contract.

The start date for this role is Monday 12th February 2024.

We’re laser-focused on looking after our current team members, encouraging & developing them; & also you’ll help us recruit the right people, at the right time, by taking ownership of recruitment and onboarding processes.

You’ll be working closely with the leadership team to ensure that we’re building more efficient processes, and improving People Operations across the business. You’ll need experience working in Talent, People, and Ops, with passion or knowledge around financial wellbeing, and the impact it can have on people’s lives.

This role is weighted 70% People Ops responsibilities and 30% Talent and Recruitment responsibilities.

As the People & Talent Led at Bippit, you’ll have ownership of key functions within the organisation that will help supercharge our growth. This includes responsibility for the following areas:

  • People: Managing the full employee lifecycle of our fully remote team, administration management, L&D & performance management; ensuring that UK company procedures and HR policies are compliant with employment legislation.
  • Recruitment: Leading on recruitment across all roles in the business. Sourcing, Screening and headhunting new talent to join Bippit. Inclusive of Employer Branding, Employer Value Proposition & high quality, inclusive hiring process
  • Onboarding: Consistently manage and constantly strive to improve and iterate on our employee welcome, working with SLT to ensure high quality and effective ramping periods.
  • Copywriting and comms: internal and external; you love to share our story with a great blog, social post or email blast to prospective candidates; Also, taking ownership of how we structure information across the business, so new joiners and existing employees can find what they need, when they need it.
  • Benefits & Employee Experience: Helping us manage & enhance our benefits package to deliver world-class support to our people; encourage take up, with a focus on employee wellbeing
  • Other Tasks: We’re a start up, so this means you might get stuck into other parts of the business if needed, including event planning, branding work, social media, operations and administration tasks, whatever needs to be done to keep us moving in the right direction.

How to be an excellent fit 🤓 (for the role, and a great addition to Bippit’s culture)

We’re building an open and inclusive culture at Bippit, where ownership, accountability, and getting your hands dirty is key to success, so we’re looking for someone who is relentless, motivated, self-sufficient, bold, creative, and passionate about making an impact.

If that sounds like you, then we’d love to talk to you about the experience or awareness you have with the following areas:

  • Experience as a solo People Ops/TA professional
  • Working within a scaling start up or scale up
  • People Ops - from managing HR processes to onboarding and performance management
  • Talent Acquisition - recruiting, sourcing, screening candidates
  • Cultivating, inspiring and capturing Company Culture
  • Building out & Managing Benefits schemes & People Initiatives
  • Tech Stack Alignment (Humaans, Teamtailor & Notion or similar)

This role won't be right for you if... 🤷‍♀️

  • You've only done Recruitment/Talent and you don't have any HR or People Ops experience
  • You like formalised processes and structured information
  • You want to learn and develop from a more Senior HR/People Team - this is a solo role
  • You have never actively/solely ran people processes, such as performance review cycles, HR document writing or performance management processes.
  • You have never done any recruiting activities, such as screenings, sourcing or headhunting
  • You're not super organised and can juggle multiple tasks at once

This should go without saying but all applications are very much welcome.

If you need any adjustments to support you with your application, just let us know now by emailing careers@bippit.com in advance. Ways in which we can adjust your interview or application include, phone calls instead of videos, we can accept applications in alternative formats, we can share questions or context in advance of your call (we usually do this anyway!), additional time in the interview, advice about assistive technology... and more! Just let us know what you need! 💜
