Job Description

We are the people who give possibilities purpose

BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world. Advancing the world of health™ is our Purpose, and it’s no small feat. It takes the imagination and passion of all of us—from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year—to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.

Job Description

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Territory Manager in our Surgery business unit within BD’s Interventional Segment, your day will be filled with engaging healthcare professionals, building relationships, and championing BD's innovative solutions in the hospital care setting. You'll use existing and emerging technologies (i.e. AI, salesforce.com) to strategically identify new business opportunities, efficiently implement territory plans, and drive incremental revenue growth through solution-based selling. You will also educate and train customers, deliver product demonstrations, provide procedural and clinical support during cases, and lead product evaluations and implementations that help improve customer outcomes and adoption of BD solutions.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Advance BD's reputation as a trusted partner in healthcare by driving sales revenue and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Engage customers through active listening and insightful questioning, demonstrating customer centricity.
  • Think innovatively and stay ahead in a dynamic market environment through strategic account planning.
  • Consistently deliver results that drive business success by embracing challenges and thriving in a completive environment.
  • Empower healthcare professionals through product demonstrations, clinical education, training programs, and consultative support that promote safe and effective utilization.
  • Provide in-procedure clinical and technical support to surgeons, operating room staff, and healthcare teams to ensure proper product use and successful procedural outcomes.
  • Lead product evaluations and implementation activities by partnering with customers to assess needs, drive adoptions, and demonstrate the value of BD solutions.

What You’ll Bring

  • A bachelor’s degree is required and a minimum of four years of documented successful B2B or similar sales demonstrating performance; medical sales experience a plus
  • A valid state issued drivers license and the ability to meet BD’s auto safety standards.
  • Ability to meet and maintain customer/medical facility access and vendor credentialing requirements
  • The ability to travel within the territory on a daily basis to meet with customers, which at times requires early mornings and late evenings, including any overnight travel as required by the geography to meet expectations; adhoc other business travel for KOL engagement, dinners, meetings, tradeshows, conventions or similar
  • Ability to educate, train, and influence healthcare professionals through product demonstrations, clinical discussions, and consultative selling approaches.
  • Experience providing procedural support and applying clinical and product expertise to help customers achieve desired outcomes.
  • Strong execution skills to manage evaluations, implementations, customer training activities, and territory priorities in a complex healthcare environment.
  • Accountability for achieving revenue growth targets to deliver outstanding results through a focused and goal-oriented approach.
  • Collaboration skills to work constructively with others and meet shared business objectives.
  • Disciplined judgement when implementing effective solutions to solve problems and address root cause
  • Customer focus when anticipating and understanding your customer’s needs to deliver value
  • Resilience to perform under pressure; outperforming expectations, competitors, and peers.
  • Ability to work in an Operating Room respectfully, tolerate observing surgeries, and potentially standing on feet for extensive hours.

How You’ll Be Set Up to Win

  • Accelerate your sales career while helping reinvent the future of healthcare
  • Competitive base salary aligned to role scope, autonomy, and full commercial accountability
  • High‑impact incentive plan directly tied to individual performance, with meaningful upside for those who deliver
  • Performance recognition that differentiates top performers and rewards exceptional, sustained results
  • Company car or car allowance—move fast, stay visible, and own your territory with confidence
  • Market‑leading tools and technology to run your territory like a business

At BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, which are essential in the fast-paced healthcare industry. For most roles, we require a minimum of 4 days of in-office presence per week to maintain our culture of excellence and ensure smooth operations, while also recognizing the importance of flexibility and work-life balance. Remote or field-based positions will have different workplace arrangements which will be indicated in the job posting.

For certain roles at BD, employment is contingent upon the Company’s receipt of sufficient proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. In some locations, testing for COVID-19 may be available and/or required. Consistent with BD’s Workplace Accommodations Policy, requests for accommodation will be considered pursuant to applicable law.

Why Join Us?

To find purpose in the possibilities, we need people who can see the bigger picture, who understand the human story that underpins everything we do. We welcome people with the imagination and drive to help us reinvent the future of healthcare. At BD, you’ll discover a culture in which you can learn, grow and thrive.

We believe that when people connect in person, we learn faster, collaborate more deeply, and build a stronger culture. Join us and enjoy a culture where face-to-face collaboration supports your learning, your progress, and your success.
