Job Description

We are the people who give possibilities purpose

BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world. Advancing the world of health™ is our Purpose, and it’s no small feat. It takes the imagination and passion of all of us—from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year—to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.

Job Description

As a Senior Program Manager, you will lead complex product development programs from early planning through commercialization and launch. You will define the program structure, bring together technical, business and customer requirements, and provide the direction needed to turn complex ideas into successful products.

This is a highly visible role for someone who enjoys solving challenging problems, bringing clarity to complex programs and guiding experienced cross-functional teams. You will influence both technical and commercial direction, manage dependencies and risks, and communicate recommendations clearly to senior leaders to support effective decision-making.

You will also play an important role in shaping go-to-market and launch strategies, ensuring that customer needs, business objectives and product development plans remain connected throughout the program lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the program architecture for medium-scale, complex product development and commercialization programs.
  • Build integrated project plans, work breakdown structures, product requirements and clear priorities across functional workstreams.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through product development, commercialization, go-to-market planning and successful launch.
  • Identify, assess and manage technical, schedule, resource and business risks throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Bring together technical, commercial and customer insights to develop differentiated solutions and product concepts.
  • Guide technical and business trade-offs by evaluating customer requirements, project risks, dependencies and commercial objectives.
  • Shape business cases and program direction using market trends, growth drivers and detailed project information.
  • Communicate complex program topics and recommendations clearly to senior leaders, enabling timely and well-informed decisions.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Degree-level qualification or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Significant program or project management experience, ideally involving complex new product development and commercialization.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, integrated planning, risk management and phase-gate product development.
  • Ability to connect technical, business and customer requirements and turn complex information into clear plans and decisions.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing technical and commercial direction without relying solely on formal authority.
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to senior audiences.
