Job Description

We are the people who give possibilities purpose

BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world. Advancing the world of health™ is our Purpose, and it’s no small feat. It takes the imagination and passion of all of us—from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year—to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.

Job Description

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our Advanced Patient Monitoring (APM) Technical Services team. In this role, you will ensure the reliable operation of our advanced hemodynamic monitoring systems by performing preventive maintenance, installations, and technical support activities across the UK, Benelux, and Nordic regions.

This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge medical technology that contributes to improved clinical outcomes in hospitals across Europe. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate or junior talent who is eager to travel, gain experience in a global organization, and represent the company as a brand ambassador in front of clients.

Your ideal location is in the vicinity of London, offering convenient access to travel options and ideally situated near an airport. You will spend approximately 50% of your working time abroad, with frequent overnight stays, and you will be responsible for managing your own calendar and planning your visits.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Perform preventive maintenance, installations, and system upgrades for patient monitoring equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Provide on-site support and guidance to clinical and technical staff in hospitals.
  • Document all interventions accurately in line with quality and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the wider technical team to share insights and enhance service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and operational protocols during all service activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of APM technology and service procedures.

About you:

  • Degree in Electronic, Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
  • Previous experience in medical device or technical maintenance roles is an advantage but not a requirement.
  • Fluent in English; any other European language is beneficial.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive and independent working style.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across Europe.

BD is proud to be certified as a Top Employer 2025 in United Kingdom, reflecting our commitment to creating an exceptional working environment.
