As part of the BD Excellence programme, you will contribute to site-wide improvement initiatives, lead or support tiered meetings, and participate in Shingijutsu events, while continuously developing your own expertise through education, training, and exposure to CI projects.Building strong, efficient relationships with manufacturing operatives.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with manufacturing operators and cross-functional teams to support a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

  • Analyse manufacturing processes and develop balanced, efficient process flows that optimise productivity, quality, and performance.

  • Identify, lead, and implement cost-saving initiatives by improving workflows, reducing waste, and increasing operational efficiency across production areas.

  • Collect, document, and evaluate key process data, including material flow, people flow, cycle times, and operational metrics to support improvement activities.

  • Deliver hands-on coaching and training to manufacturing operators, ensuring best practice processes are effectively implemented and sustained.

  • Drive the adoption of Lean Manufacturing methodologies, including DMAIC, Kaizen, 5S, and other Continuous Improvement tools to enhance site performance.

  • Support and execute process, equipment, and workplace improvement projects that contribute to safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

  • Actively contribute to the BD Excellence programme, taking ownership of Continuous Improvement initiatives and helping embed a culture of operational excellence.

  • Facilitate and lead Tiered Meetings when required, ensuring actions, improvements, and operational priorities are effectively communicated and tracked.

  • Play a key role in Shingijutsu and Continuous Improvement events, working as a facilitator to identify opportunities, engage stakeholders, and deliver sustainable improvements across the site.

About you

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence colleagues across a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Proven problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying inefficiencies and driving continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present ideas, facilitate discussions, and deliver training to diverse audiences.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams, building strong partnerships across Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Continuous Improvement functions.

  • Passion for Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing, with knowledge of Lean tools such as Kaizen, 5S, DMAIC, or a willingness to develop expertise in these methodologies.

  • Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and a willingness to learn, thrive in change, and embrace new challenges and responsibilities.

  • Commitment to personal and professional development, including a desire to further education, training, and Continuous Improvement knowledge.

  • Understanding of regulated manufacturing environments and the importance of compliance, quality standards, and operational excellence.

  • Experience leading or supporting improvement projects, Kaizen events, or initiatives that have delivered measurable business results is highly advantageous.

  • Results-driven and action-oriented mindset, with a proven ability to take ownership, deliver on commitments, and consistently add value through practical improvements and enhanced operational performance.
