Job Description

Our Board of Trustees (known as Council), Co-opted members of Trustee committees and Advisory Board members are a vital part of Battersea, bringing their considerable experience and skills along with real enthusiasm and commitment to these crucial roles to support the delivery of our ambitious organisational strategy.

We are currently investing significant time and resources in a major multi-year cross-organisation data programme to improve organisational efficiency and deliver greater value across each of the directorates as a unified Battersea, ultimately helping more cats and dogs This initially involves implementation of a new CRM to replace two core legacy CRM systems along with improved integration of systems and data across the whole organisation.

To bring greater depth of skills in this area to our Board of Trustees, support our organisational strategy and build diversity of experience into the Board we are looking for an experienced CIO/CTO currently working in a large complex organisation.

You will join our Board of Trustees who meet six times a year for a half day meeting with the Chief Executive and Directors, and for a full-day annual strategy review. You will also be a member of our Launchpad Governance Group which meets monthly. There may also be ad-hoc requests for additional support and input. Trustees are also encouraged to meet staff, volunteers, supporters, take part in shadowing our activities, attend trustee training and to attend fundraising and other events, wherever possible.

The role is an appointment for an initial term of three years. This is a volunteer unremunerated role, and is subject to references deemed satisfactory to Battersea and to meeting Charity Commission trustee eligibility requirements.
