Job Description
Job title: Vetting Administrator
Location: Preston (Channel Way)– We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: Circa £31,560 dependent on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide a security vetting service to all internal and external customers, ensuring that service excellence is maintained and all vetting applicants’ information and queries are processed professionally and efficiently.
- Assist customers regarding vetting requirements, standards and policy. To ensure enquiries are dealt with considering data protection / security in relation to disclosure of information
- Ensure legitimate access to HMG and company information / assets is adhered to in compliance with the BAE Systems Security Policy Framework, Her Majesty’s Government (HMG), BAE Systems associated security policies and procedures, and BAE Systems Security Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Perform document checks for accuracy and record on appropriate databases and systems in accordance with procedures and guidelines.
- Initiation and sponsorship of electronic applications to individuals via National Security Vetting portal with provision of guidance notes
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Previous vetting or security administration experience
- Experience of HR Systems
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload
Desirable:
- Experience of Successfactors, Taleo, GTI

The Vetting Team:
A professional team supporting BAE Systems by completing Vetting activities. You will be part of a team that bridges the Security and HR world, which can give oversight and potential opportunity with varied work within a set of admin processes.
You will be able to gain insight and knowledge from Government and BAE polices and take the correct actions to get individuals up and running within BAE. This role will allow you the opportunity to work in the rewarding space of Vetting, and help being the initial driving force within BAE that allows the whole business to function.

Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
