Job Title: TLS Logistics Information System Solution Design Lead

Location: Warton – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £54,793+ Depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading the engagement with Customer and Industry SMEs to elicit, understand and capture user and system requirements for the logistics information system
  • Developing architectures and assessing concept options for the logistics information system
  • Developing the detailed system specification for the preferred logistics information system option, including identification of information exchange requirements
  • Identifying and specifying the enabling technologies and capabilities needed to deliver the logistics information system solution
  • Producing strategies & plans for the design, development, test, qualification, certification and implementation of the logistics information system
  • Identifying and managing risks, assumptions, dependencies and opportunities related to the design and development of the logistics information system
  • Planning and co-ordinating team tasking, leading the inputs to planning sessions and reviews, and contributing to schedules of work around logistics information system deliverables
  • Contributing to lifecycle management through technical reviews, design reviews and gate reviews

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • HND Level 5 or Degree level qualification (or equivalent professional experience) in relevant STEM subject (Engineering/Maths/Science/IT)
  • Experience in developing complex, large-scale Information Systems (IS) architectures, preferably in a defence or aerospace environment
  • Experience of applying relevant skills across the Systems Engineering lifecycle e.g. Requirements Engineering, Solution Design, Integration, Verification & Validation, Test & Qualification

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) with experience in relevant tools, frameworks or languages – e.g. CAMEO, MooD, UML/SysML, MagicGrid, DOORS, NAF/MODAF/TOGAF
  • Experience in the development, implementation or operation of logistics information systems, engineering support systems, supply chain management systems, or maintenance management systems for aircraft or military products, including either bespoke or COTS applications (e.g. IFS Cloud, Maintenix, Syncron)
  • Experience with any of the following – UK MOD Knowledge in Defence (KiD), Support Solution Envelope 21 (SSE21), Integrated Logistics Support (Def-Stan 00-600), ASD/AIA S-Series Integrated Product Support (IPS) specifications

The Through Life Engineering (TLS) Team:

The Logistics Information System (LogIS) is at the heart of how we will deliver through-life support to a future combat air platform in an integrated, secure and seamless digital environment. It will connect operational planning, maintenance, supply chain and in-service engineering across the fleet.

As the FCAS Logistics Information System Lead, you will lead a team to define requirements and develop concepts for a future logistics information system that will meet the through-life needs of a 6th generation combat air platform, within a System of Systems environment.

There will be no ‘perfect fit’ for this role. We are looking for information system designers or information system architects with broad experience and an appetite to learn how to apply their core knowledge to the maintenance, logistics and through-life support domain whilst working in a truly multi-disciplined environment.
